The story The World's End is mine. I started it back in 2008/2007. I should have rights to edit the pages as I see fit. Someone that took the time to write one page does not have control over everything. Please let me have creative license over my work. It is not my intention to rip apart others contributions, but sometimes I need to clean things up and add some things to the story. Anyways, I don't think anyone else has contributed to my story for about three years, I don't think they will be mad if I change a few sentences or delete something so it makes more sense.

Editing/Clarity/Format Help

Hey, I've seen that you've edited my page. I'm currently trying to figure out how the formatting goes, and have had some trouble with the tutorial. Do you think I could get some advice? I've read the tutorial over and over and cant figure out how to add properly formatted links and how to edit those linked pages (and so on and so forth)

These last months the site has been unbearably slow making it practically unusable, and despite repeated contacts the site admin Rob Kohr does not seem interested in acknowledging that his quick fixes aren't real solutions. Since I see no indication on his part a comprehensive fix restoring this site to normal responsiveness is forthcoming any time soon, I'd like to ask you if you know of any other free wiki site with a no-censorship policy, Platypus? In regards to your last comment on my talk page, I just wanted to say that I respect that rampage is your story, and if you don't want me posting there, then just say the word; I will respect that.

I put up a couple of stories last night, one of which I found in a folder which I thought I had posted a long time ago, the other of which I wrote in a bit of a hurry. For that reason, I must have forgotten to make sure that they conformed to your preferred punctuation style, and I apologize for that.

In regard to your last comment on my talk page, allow me to say, "Thank you". You said everything I had hoped you would say, and I feel encouraged to keep writing, and to follow http://editthis.info/create_your_own_adventure/Punctuation_with_dialogue.

My academic background is in descriptive grammar, and I have since moved to work with editing, which is of course prescriptive, but I never work with fiction writing, so I haven't had cause to study use of punctuation in quotations before.

Sorry for the way i've been acting, i'm not trying to get banned. Sometimes I don't always think before I post due to my Aspberger's Syndrome, I was out of line with what I said before and I regret it. I appreciate you showing what I did wrong with my last entry, that really helped me. So i'm going to take your advice and try and start my own story, i'll consider myself lucky if I turn out to be even half as good of a writer as you are, i'll try not to make my grammar look too sloppy. I actually did well in my English classes in college, but I guess it's not always so easy to adapt your skills at writing papers into writing stories on sites like this. _________________________________________________________

Hi This is Pedobear12 Thank you for showing me how to add the category into the story, I was trying to do that, but gave up. turns out i was almost there  :) Anyway I was wondering if you could tell me how to make different lines in a single story merge. In other words if one decision was made, how do I make the lines merge with a bit down the line decisions of a different set. What I am getting at is that if you choose a path it may lead to being captured or death. if you choose the other path one of the decisions in that path could have the same result. So instead of retyping it, I want to know how to direct the page to that same ending, especially if I think that ending was writen well?

I'm confused as to why you deleted the page I added for the pizza girl in the hotel. The note about the deletion said the choices weren't in second person, but each and ever choice refers to "you", the very definition of second person. Please clarify this for me.

Addition - Platypus, question. I want to create a page in my story but not linked to my story where I can keep a log of where my links are and where they are broken. I can probably do it on my PC, but I am editing from both home and work, so feel it would be easier if I can just have a link log or something where I keep track of my forks without having to go through it multiple times.

Is this acceptable to do? I just want to make sure.

So, just checking. Do I seem to be doing fine right now? I know I occasionally post a long story in a link, then have no additional options and change the stuff in that link. I am just laying in the base for the branch I am working on, and will remove/add/edit/modify everything as I progress. You can see my most recent path if you are worried about that, so you can see how I work on it and bring it to the final stage. Hmm, think I have a problem. Actually, what I am trying to do is this (Which you can see is a problem if you check the Dirty Me/Storyboard:

Opening [show]

Click the show,

Opening [hide]

• path 1 [show]
• path 2 [show]
• path 3 [show]

Then, I can create the page paths, so, for example, someone is reading through, then gets to a certain point and needs to leave, they can just go to the Storyboard, look up the path they see, and go directly to it. It seems nicer than the category page, so you can see what choices lead to what paths. I guess I saw Uman's, and liked it, but wanted to make the entire story path so you could just look up options quickly and decide where you want to go. But right now, my opening, with all paths shown until the end of it, is over 900 lines, which won't really be nice for anyone to use. If we can figure it out, it would be nice, but no worries. Sorry, I have created a few pages for you to delete, since it isn't really worth it to try without being able to hide. Thanks for deleting the pages, and sorry for the mess. Also, thanks for fixing the +annabeth thing. I didn't notice I deleted the wrong part. I saw it had some warning thing about resources or whatever, so I was trying to delete some of the PAGESINCAT things I was using. It helps for finding stories that don't have much, but guess it gives some problems or whatever. I will just use it for the currently active stories now. Now to see what else I want to do. Platypus, sorry, I thought I had fixed Blazetempest's issues a bit more. I wasn't sure what to do with it, and it was a bit poorly written, but I thought I at least made it more sensible. Well, looks like no one has been able to find a way to create a collapsible table. I may blank it soon if we can't. Seems too awkward trying to use it without being able to do this.

I do have another question though. Do you know how to get {{NUMBEROFVIEWS}} to work only for a specific page, not for the entire wiki? I noticed people saying on one of the things before that it used to show it, but it was removed. Is there a way to do this only for a single page? I am wondering. I have been looking around this wiki, other wikis, features, pages, etc, and have noticed that overall, our front page is rather ugly, that there are additional tools that may be useful (For example, one had a "forum" area where things could be reported, or just discussions or whatever), and that overall it seems like some things need to be rethought. I don't really have any answers for these issues, but I was wondering if you have had any thoughts about all this. I am willing to help try to come up with some better things like the Copyright notice, maybe try to help a little with the grammar section, and the forums idea, but when it comes to trying to think of how to clean up the home page, or make some other useful pages, I have no idea where to even start. Just a little overwhelming I guess. Do you have any ideas for any of this? For the Hitchhikers Guide thing: Yeah, I checked the date, but thought that when the ability to upload images was removed that maybe the images also were removed. After you fixed it, I figured out what was wrong. Actually, I had this site bookmarked as Choose your own adventure. I had visited this site a while ago, before it was changed, because the first time I clicked the link, it failed. Sadly, I just never did anything with it. And, think I am finished with the Adult Stories section. All stories have been gone through, and their category pages marked as Adult Stories. Many of the low page count, long time without editing, have been moved to the pit. Others which are not getting much attention, have had the note added that they are on the pit watchlist, so we can see if they are added to before the 1 year point. I thought this would make it easier. I will still do a few other things around the site, and once I am up for writing more, add more to my stories. Just wanted to let you know. Sorry, I know, I am giving you lots of blanked pages. I have just been blanking the ones that only have a single page, or, if the story has more than one page, it has no real story, like the one that had 6 pages of "Are you this or this". (About Dadrocks' change to the front page) Platypus, I read the message on his page, and in his defense, I don't think he changed the Harry Potter thing on the front page for vandalism, but to try to request it be moved to a different section since he seems to feel it was no longer family friendly due to his addition. I understand why it is inappropriate, but, I think it is more an act of (insert reference to lights and no one being home here), rather than malicious intent. Just wanted to mention how it seems so there are no hard feelings because of a misunderstanding. I saw your edits to my story. I believe you... warned, as it were, me about not adding categories. I'd like to thank you, since I'm so new I didn't fully understand the system -and still dont, for that matter.

Since you obviously do, I would like to know if its alright if I add adult content. I saw that stories were grouped into different categories with regard to what ages they were suitable for but I do not know which category my own story is in and I don't yet know how to tell.

And if you're talking about the links, I'm just trying to avoid linking into someone else's story (it already happened when someone was editing the Rampage story and linked it to Smutty Sex Romp and another story Smutty Sex Romp 2). Unless you planned it that way, I didn't want it to connect it to someplace else other than the original story. But if you're just talking about renaming the title, it's doable.

Hello Platypus

I just noticed that I created a page that was not only linked from the page I created, but from other pages, too (it was redlinked before, I check that). To avoid this happening again in the future, I am currently recreating pages I made so far using complex links. In this process, I am forced to blank about 125 pages, which I kindly ask you to delete after being blanked. My apologies for the work this causes you. -MMH

Thank you for the tip with the move pages. I hope you aren't angry with me when I say that I once used the move feature and was displeased with the look of it and thus will recreate the pages regardless. Once more my apologies. -MMH

        Are the tables on the main page necessary? They kind of displace everything around them.
