Although it must have only been minutes ago, you only vaguely recalling your professor telling you there would be rules, you think maybe he knew that this supernatural transport was going to happen when you pressed the buttons on your clicker.

“Rule number 1” , you recall him saying, “stay alive”.

“Maybe”, you think, “this is all part of the game and I’m supposed to fight back.”

You think about retaliating against the woman as blood trickles down from your head where the timer hit you. But the more you think about it, Juan seems like he’s not in danger of death, or at least not at this moment. Juan is clearly bigger than this woman and he/you could probably do a lot more damage to her than she can to you. And then where would Juan be?

“Rule number 2 was to increase your health points,” you think, “If anyone is keeping score right now, you think, they are certainly going down.”

You’ve been raised to believe that men shouldn’t be violent towards women so even though Karen thinks it’s okay to be physically violent towards Juan. But maybe, you’re supposed to resolve the situation in another way?
