You fumble in your pockets and pull out the cell phone to call the police.

You push past Karen and walk towards the kitchen, thinking she wont try to hurt you again if you are near the kids. Karen is behind you yelling about Juan not having a good job, being worthless. You try to tune her out but can't.

"911, What's your Emergency?" the voice on the phone asks.

"Yes I'd like to report an assault. This woman who is supposed to be my wife punched me and then she threw a kitchen timer at me," you tell the operator.

Karen, in the background is yelling, "oh yeah, you want to call the cops on me. Well get out of my house right now, and good luck ever seeing your children again."

Involuntarily, your stomach drops. You look down at Juan's kids and feel an overwhelming urge to protect them.
