The pain in your feet steadily grows, and you wonder about the wisdom of throwing your shoes away while you were on such rocky terrain. You realize with grim determination that you might be stuck here for months without shoes, waiting for rescue. You begin to dig a foxhole with your teeth, only to realize it's easier to do with both hands.
