'Don't let me keep you,' You say almost mischievously. She gives you a mischievous smile. 'Maybe later.'
She takes you through to a large room with large chesterfields in yellow leather arranged around an unlit fireplace. In the middle of the arrangement lies a thick fur rug that must have cost either a dozen mink or one very large bear. The French windows leading into the garden are open in spite of the rain, letting a breath of cool air into the hot summer night.
'How about a drink?' Blondie asks you.
'I could do with a drink,' you say. Ain't that the truth. It's been a long day and you're tired.
She mixes you a scotch and soda and takes one for herself. Then, sweeping across to the chesterfields she sits down on the one facing away from the garden and the open windows.
