You stand in the inn room. Being the human you are, you can fit inside; the poor giants have to sleep outside with the trolls many times. You're also very lucky; as a person of many skills, you were searching the room and found the innkeeper's hidden coffer, a whole 30 Silver and 20 Copper. Pocketing it all, you had searched the rest of the room thoroughly last night, but your labors only returned an arrow-head.

You walk over to find your shortsword lying on a table where you had left it yesterday. A quick examination of the object revealed that it was in good shape. Since you have no other weapon, you have to take it. You'd be extremely forgetful, it being your only defense, and a rather queer person as well. Dangers lurk everywhere, round every corner, on each floor. But... it can also yield great rewards.

Taking your blade, you consider it's sharpness and cutting ability. It's fairly good; write it down with +3 ATK. You then walk out the door into the lower part of the inn. From there, you strike up a talk with a man, who informs you that there was a wizard in this very room minutes before you waked. "If I were to mark him, I would say he's a necromancer, with his dark robes and cloak," he says. "But not one necromancer comes this far east; the west is where the dead linger stronger."

As you exit the inn, you realize you have no purpose. There is the local quest board, or you could visit the Gambler. Then there's the stables, of course, but you don't have a horse. But you could always steal one…
