Beth looks at you with a bit of disappointment in her eyes. She moves onto the dance still looking at your. You sip your drink and watch her dance she is graceful and not afraid of using her body. She grinds with a couple girls and strikes up a conversation or two. She gives you one quick look again, and then turns and heads into the crowd.
You just watch, eventually loosing track of her. Your heart is a little broken but it’s for the best you think. You go home, alone. You still are thinking about her and what might have been. You spend your time being there for your kids and have a happy but empty life. On your death bed you remember Beth and the chance you didn’t take.
