Your skin, bare from soles to neck, is enveloped by the warmth of an enormous, dark duvet. The room that blinks into sight around you is uncluttered: a laptop mounted on a light-wood desk, books banal and esoteric stacked neatly on shelves, and a closed wardrobe. A pair of doors stare at each other from either side: one, you recall, finds the kitchen; the other is passage to your bathroom.
Ah, yes, your bathroom. Some urgency, more than is common, hits you from below. You cross your naked thighs, and rest your hands on your bladder. You remember this is the day, no backing out. The bathroom is not an option.
