Nathaniel hands you some bacon with a sigh. "Writing in the dirt again?"
"Pretty much," you reply.
"Well, I'm not going to stop you. But just out of curiosity, why would you rather write a message in the dirt as opposed to just telling me what your message was? Particularly if it was a message about a dangerous, fangorious monster that's been known to lurk in the vicinity of your house, screaming mangled cries of hatred at the moon."
You reply:
- "That's how we roll in this high fantasy story"
- "If you know about the monster, then how come in a lot of the endings you end up being eaten?"
- "Would you like to buy a flower?"
