The girl to your left pulls herself up, kicking up bits of dirt in your face. Once she hits ground level, she quickly disappears from view. You brush off dust.

Ahead of you, you hear sounds like a turret firing. You look skyward. Above, multiple sprays of blood fly over your head. There is a distinct thud. You're certain the girl whose name you never knew is dead and now the second casualty of this craziness.

Any hope of escape seems to die then and there along with her.
