You walk for the better part of an hour.

The going is rough, at first because you're paranoid about the light giving you away. Later, when you have resigned yourself to using the light all the time just to avoid half killing yourself on all the protruding rocks, the going is rough because the passageway snakes this way and that, forcing you to clamber one minute, and to crawl through narrow holes the next. You thought it would be cold and clammy, but you are instead hot and flustered.

Finally you arrive at a somewhat bigger chamber. There are four exits in the roughly square chamber, and you can see how water has pooled naturally by the passageway where you came from.

You:

• Just pick a direction at random and press on
• Drink your fill, to save on your precious German beer
• Stay absolutely still, and then turn off the flashlight
