Verse/Luka/Ditch school and make friends
From Create Your Own Story
You yawn, and are reminded of last night's less than comfortable sleep; you rule out school, as you don't feel like dealing with it. You also have no money, so rule out the mall--it's no fun alone. Your two real options gone, you simply shrug and head off in the direction opposite of school, with no real goal in mind.
Half an hour passes, half an hour of taking random turns at random intervals. You've reached a park, and it's not particularly empty. There's a few mothers with young children--toddlers, really. There's also a few older men playing sports on the grass. The most interesting sight is the one of four other teenagers at the far end of the park, past the children playing in the jungle gym, past the the volleyball court and net, and past the empty baseball field.
There's two girls, and two guys, so you figure they're friends who decided to ditch. The set seems particularly close--maybe they're couples?
No. You rule that out, as neither of two guys seems too close to either of the girls. With a shrug, you head over to them. You're not too sure why--maybe you're bored, maybe you're looking for some excitement.
Regardless, you soon get close to identify some features. One boy--whom the others address as Oliver--calls your attention. He's shorter than the other guy, and seems more delicate as well. When he laughs, his whole body shakes and he seems to glow, brightening up his light brown hair. You shake your head in surprise when you notice that. Still, you move closer to them. The second boy--Willy--is taller and broader, though just slightly, with darker colored hair; it's hard to get a good view at more specific features from this distance.
The two girls are near opposites of one another--one is small, thin, and shy-looking, though also quite beautiful and cute. The other is taller, with more weight--though not exactly overweight--and with darker features and hair. You imagine you'd take both to bed.
By now, you've arrived close enough to be noticed. The shy girl--Jess you believe they called her--is the first to look at you. It doesn't last long, and she leaves you alone until you're upon them. At this distance, you notice they're at least a year or two older.
"Hi," you say, in the friendliest voice you can muster.
"Heyya," the second girl--Rae?--replies, smiling widely.
"Hello," the shy girls goes.
"Sup," the broad boy.
"Yo," the smaller one.
You're surprised by how easy they seem. "I'm Luka," you continue. "Noticed you guys are out there." You say slowly. "I ditched too, alone." You do have friends, but you don't have a phone; couldn't call them if you wanted to, which you didn't.
"Nice to meet ya, Luka," the first girl says. "I'm Rachel." She points to the other girl, "This is Jessica. He's Will, and the other guy's Oliver."
"What??" Oliver exclaims. "I'm just the other guy now?" He laughs.
His friends laugh, but you simply stare at them. They seem odd. "Nice to meet you too," you reply, when the laughter subsides. "Are you guys doing much?"
"No," Rae answers. "We ditched too, and came to this park."
You nod slowly. "Ohhhh... Can I hang with you guys for a while?"
She shrugs, and so do the other few. "Sure, I guess," Oliver says. He looks you over and grins slightly. You return it, not too sure why.
"We were going to go for a bite to eat soon," Jess says.
You scowl, "I don't have any money." Still, you dig into your pockets. Your bag is empty as well, with the exception of the your school stuff, a knife, and your weed--you grabbed it before leaving, thinking you'll smoke at school.
"Don't worry," Oliver says, still smiling, "I'll treat you."
"Um... you sure?" You go.
"Yeah," he answers, "would be a crime to not feed your cute little mouth."
You...
