"Could you tell me what's going on?" you ask.

"Ah, right." The priest lowers his voice. "You are captain Bertram, of the Order of the Witch Hunters of Sigmar. Grand Theogonist Volkmar in person has sent you here to deal with a certain problem of ours. A problem named Nikola von Carstein."

"Von Carstein? Of the von Carstein vampire family from Sylvania?" you say.

"Yes. The Sartosans are about to elect the pirate prince — the one who will rule this city for the year to come. The current Pirate Princess expects to be re-elected, but captain von Carstein makes a bid for the throne, and he is garnering considerable support. As time passes, more and more people rally behind him for reasons we don't understand. And let me tell you that we do not want a von Carstein sitting on the pirate throne of Sartosa. Pirates are an unruly bunch, but we believe this man has what it takes to unite them. If he does, the Empire is in danger. We all know how much trouble the von Carsteins have caused to the Empire in the past."
