"Oh certainly! I'll be right back." She goes inside and closes the door. A moment later, she comes back and gives you a bowl of sugar. You tell her you'll bring the bowl back later and you leave, going back to your mom. You find her in the kitchen looking distracted. You place the bowl of sugar on the counter. She turns to you, having heard the noise. She doesn't say anything.
"Are you mad at me?" you ask.
"No, sweetie. I'm just...stuck."
"Stuck? Stuck on what?"
"What to do next. It feels like I'm doing a lot more thinking than doing these days."
"What are you thinking about?"
"Today? Stupid things."
