You enter the room. It is a circular room, with a pillar in the middle that the torch's sconce is on. There is a table with a sword and a compass on it. To your right is a bookshelf. The room seems to serve as a four-way intersection, the compass shows you came from the south. There are three other doorways, one west, one north, and one east. You can hear what sounds like claws scuttling on stone coming from the east passageway. Moans can be heard from the west passageway. The north passageway is silent. What do you do?
Grab the sword, new torch, and compass, and take the western passage.
