Despite how close to freedom you are, you still feel a bit uneasy about making your escape now. With him watching you as much as he does you would be unable to make a run for it, and that is about all you could do at this point. You need to find an opportunity to get outside with him not watching you. And that just isn't happening yet.

A few more months pass, waiting to gain just the smallest amount of trust. But it doesn't seem to come. You now haul around your 10 month pregnant belly. You look overdue with triplets. The rain has been tapping on the thin roof all day. Your captor sits at the table, playing a game of solitaire. He has not been hunting in the past few days. Having stocked up on food over the last month, he refuses to leave with you so close to delivering the baby.

The rain tapping on the roof makes you need to go to the bathroom (not to mention the baby sitting on your bladder). Suddenly you get an idea. "I have to use the bathroom..." you say in a meek tone. "It's raining hard out there, try and hold it for a moment." You do a little dance. "I really need to go..." you say. He sighs "fine I'll get you a can or something just shut up..." He gets up to look for a can but you stop him. "I don't need to pee." you say. He rolls his eyes. "Not right now. I don't want to get drenched, just so you can take a shit."

You get up close to him. "I could go myself. Just give me the umbrella and I could take care of it." He looks up at you annoyed. "Right... so you can take off? Do you think I'm stupid?" You give him an annoyed look back and hold up your belly "Right, take off. With this? I need to go and I feel like it may be nice to do my business ALONE for once." He rubs his hand through the fur on his chin and finally stands up. "Fine. It's not like you have anywhere to go anyway." He then gets grabs the umbrella and hands it to you. "Thank you." You say with relief, of which you didn't have to act. This is the best chance you have of escape. "I'll just be on the other side of that tree." He waves you off and you head out.

You quickly get behind the tree. Once over there you grab one of the loose branches and tie the umbrella to it with one some of the long grass that was growing out there. You then stick it into the ground. You make sure some of the umbrella is visible to him, so that if he looks out he will think you are still holding it.

With your decoy set you take off behind the tree, so he can't see you. You manage to get over a hill, widening your options of running. You can go to a nearby cave, run to some of the denser trees to hide in, or across the shallow area of the river.
