“ I've got just the thing,” you say as you flip through the On Demand movies to find that horror film that just came out. The nice thing about this movie, you think, is that it starts out quite tame, but really takes off halfway through.
You sit on the couch next to Lin. At first, she doesn't seem that interested in the movie, but eventually, the plot catches her and she is paying closer attention. Then, when someone is decapitated suddenly, Lin lurches into your arms, burying her head in your chest.
You wrap your arms around her, feeling tremors running through her body. You say soothingly, “It’s okay…” as you rub your hand up and down her back. You feel that she isn't wearing a bra under her t-shirt.
After a few minutes, she recovers enough to turn back towards the movie. Every few minutes, she flinches at another scene, sometimes turning her head away, but always returning to the movie despite herself. She is clutching at you tightly, using you as a security blanket. The movie finally ends with Lin tucked in a cocoon inside your embrace.
You whisper soothing things in her ear while continuing to hold and caress her. The tremors in her body subside as Lin relaxes. “I’ll keep you safe,” you murmur to her.
She looks up at your face when you say that and you lean down for a kiss. The kiss starts slow and gentle, as if Lin is looking for reassurement and stability, but it intensifies until your tongues are intertwined and your hands are roaming over her back.
