Ask the socks for help

"So, um, I'm kind of lost," you say to the socks. "Could one of you guys maybe point me towards the exit? Anyone?"

The socks keep crawling around you and none of them seem to be pointing at anything, unless they're pointing at you.

"Take off your shoes," an eerie voice says.

You shudder. You're not sure you should take your high heels off. That would leave your feet exposed to these strange, animated socks.
