FEEDER moves away from the university area stay clear of the scent trail left by the teenager and the old man. He passes by countless empty houses, most of them seem abandoned, a few of them show signs of mayhem, a few have burned down.
He crosses many vampire desperate as he is for a drop of life. Once or twice as he meets particularly alluring ones he hesitates to feed on them. But it would be second hand blood already stripped of its flavor and benefits so he decides to keep this option as a last resort.
Saturday night seems to have been a huge success for Lily's former Mistress.
Monroeville is Vampire city. Monroeville is a dead city.
FUCKER takes a car in a garage, a big SUV. He takes the Interstate towards Denver. He stops at every settlement he comes across but most of the time it's either empty or already taken over by vampires.
FUCKER: I don't like this, this is bad, FEEDER is growing desperate.
CRYER: Lily's starving and so we are. Bouhouhouh...
MISTRESS: We need to find someone to feed upon.
BINDER: As much as I hate to say that I must agree with MISTRESS.
Just before sunrise FEEDER finally finds it: humans, blood bags, walking and talking, gorged of the precious nectar. He steps on the gas.
All this blood a few hundred yards away. It's like Christmas in July.
"Here comes another one Captain"
"Ok you know the drill. Fire at will"!
It's never a good idea to try and force a roadblock. Vampires are almost indestructible but heavy modern weaponry usually takes care of that almost.
Lily's body is torn to shreds by hundreds of heavy caliber bullets and laid to wait for sunrise in a nearby field surrounded by a hundred other vampires.
