You step closer to the screens and inspect them. Each flashes between the views of several cameras in a loop. The first shows scenes of the empty house around you. Not much information can be gleaned from them except to confirm that the layout of the building matches your expectations from training. By all appearances, it is an average suburban home. It is fully furnished, and would appear completely boring to anyone who might wander in from the outside world.

The second screen shows the viewpoints of the exterior cameras. You watch the odd green night vision footage of the quiet neighborhood. The only thing moving is a raccoon digging at something beside the next door neighbor's garage. You check the time printed in the top-right corner. It's 3:18 in the morning.

The third screen is a steady shot of what you know to be the docking bay for the aquifer deep underground. One port is occupied by a small submersible. The other was left vacant when your training cell (Mother, Master, and Teacher) left less than an hour ago.

The fourth shows scenes from the compound. First, you see your empty cell, and each of the main halls where you lived for 18 years prior to today. Your pulse raises as the camera switches to show a pure white cell containing only a bed. Sitting on the edge of the bed is a beautiful blonde. She is fully nude save for the long hair cascading down over her breasts to touch the tops of her slender thighs. She is looking directly into the camera, and your eyes lock onto hers until she disappears with the view change. Her image is replaced by a similar scene. This time, however, a brunette kneels on the end of the bed. Her hair falls behind her shoulders. Her hourglass figure is laid bare to your ravenous eyes. Her body calls to you with every curve. Your heart sinks as the screen once again shows you an image of your own lonely cell.

You remember that you can easily choose whichever view pleases you. From experience, you know that the cameras can be pointed in any direction, and that an intercom links this terminal with every room in the compound.

You unlock the center door with confident strides and make your way to the freight elevator beyond.

The elevator is very slow, and the accent tests your patience. You watch as 20 minutes of rock creep past before you reach the surface. At the top, the gates open into a small office which buzzes with screens. Some of the screens show scenes of the interior of the compound. Others show what must be the remainder of the house you currently stand in. Your house.

I don't think you understand what I'm saying. I agree that standards are important to ensuring that this section of the site doesn't descend into chaos. I am just commenting that as a new writing user, I am potentially going to make this site better and stronger for all users. Hi Platypus. I think it's great that you are keeping an eye on things and ensuring proper grammar and such. But honestly when the option is between a blank page or a page that's not quite perfect for your liking, well deleting the whole thing and leaving the page as a broken link doesn't really help anyone. If you wanted to fix up the issues, or wanted to replace it with something better that is fine. Perhaps there is an option to flag a page for cleanup later if you don't have time (or maybe someone else can do it). But deleting pages that are reasonable but not perfect in favor of absolutely nothing is not an improvement in my opinion. There are a lot of story lines on here that dead end and need finishing and not only does your practice make it very disappointing for readers to not be able to finish a story arc, but it also discourages editors from wanting to come back and help finish some story arcs. I appreciate your protectiveness of your source material, but try being more hospitable. No reason to delete things when the changes aren't more than link perspectives or minor punctuation problems. You clearly don't want to write all 64,000 pages that would be needed to finish and tie together Rampage, or any other of your stories. So stop impeding people who are helping add more content to the site by wholesale deleting everything anybody writes with 2 missed periods or a run-on sentence or two. I'm still new at this, so I don't appreciate the attitude. Yes, it'll take me some time getting used to this HTML like format, yes I'll make some errors now and again, but no that does not mean you have the right to strike an attitude with me. I haven't really worked with a status bar before, and I honestly didn't even realize I had to do anything with it. I'm still learning, rather teaching myself this strange format, so don't come to me in a hard and demeaning tone because I didn't do something the way you wanted it, because I am fairly new at this.

Platypus, this is eatenbypie. I appreciate that you pay attention to things like categorization of pages, but deleting work two hours after being warned and threatening to ban a new user because I missed categorization on 6-8 pages is excessive, especially given that the site doesn't notify you about warnings. Simple oversight on my part, and obviously an oversight given that the rest of the story has proper categorization. -Edit Not bothering to recreate my work on this site.

Apologies for the tense problems. I've been proofreading my stuff since I'm used to writing in past tense, but some things slip through the cracks it seems. As for quirky titles... do you mean the link/page title thing? The first was due to a page collision. I suppose I could have changed the action prompt to something else, but I consider that a part of the story itself, and didn't want to change it due to a collision. Those are rare, I guess. The second was due to a plan where two mini-storylines would converge to the same page... but the actions to get there would be different. In this case I would prefer to use a third page title rather than favor one of the two storylines. The third time I did it... yeah, that was just for my amusement, and it would be a simple matter to limit usage of alternate titles and use them only when needed. So... yeah. In my defence of the above accusations, I would like to bring Blackdragon's attention to the message that appears at the bottom of the edit window. Specifically, if you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly, then don't submit here. The majority of my recent edits have centered around spelling, grammar, and readability, although I admit that here or there I add some embellishment or make changes to improve consistency and continuity. No one else on here seems to have a problem with that and realize that wikis are designed with collaboration in mind, and collaborative storytelling only makes for better more well rounded stories. In any case, I submit that if he considers his writing to be a sacred text that he changes his story type to private. But I'm definitely done with his whining. He will see no further contributions from me.

You are totally wrong about written descriptions of underage sex being illegal. The fact that the material could be considered obscene, and thus illegal (in the US) would actually apply equally to any story with any extreme sexual activity. It can be applied to rape, bestiality, and just about ANY story that contains sexual descriptions. It is based on a remnant of a struck down child protection law that was unconstitutional, which is why it is sited for material directly related to children. The law is laughable, and you may have found one of the few cases where it was actually used, and the only one that I am aware of that actually made it through successfully. The user who pointed it out to you must be a free speech hating Nazi to bring up such an unlikely and remote senario as based on such a law. If this law were actually a problem, the largest sex story site on the internet '''www.asstr.org''' would not exist. No reasonable court would rule that you are guilty of transporting obscenity for something someone else wrote on your website. Actually [[The Humiliation of Katie]] may have some offending sections as well. I don't know how in depth we are planning on going here (age wise), but "[[Katie, who just hit puberty, is in her first year of high school at the age of 13]]" and "[[Katie, small and unknown to the town, enters a new elementary at the age of 6]]" would be offending sections. I didn't particularly want so young of ages to be used but I wasn't aware of the whole deletion possibility at the time. If necessary, I can raise the age of the 16 and 17 years on that story. There are a lot of story lines on here that dead end and need finishing and not only does your practice make it very disappointing for readers to not be able to finish a story arc, but it also discourages editors from wanting to come back and help finish some story arcs. I'm still new at this, so I don't appreciate the attitude. Yes, it'll take me some time getting used to this HTML like format, yes I'll make some errors now and again, but no that does not mean you have the right to strike an attitude with me. I haven't really worked with a status bar before, and I honestly didn't even realize I had to do anything with it. I'm still learning, rather teaching myself this strange format, so don't come to me in a hard and demeaning tone because I didn't do something the way you wanted it, because I am fairly new at this.

I appreciate that you pay attention to things like categorization of pages, but deleting work two hours after being warned and threatening to ban a new user because I missed categorization on 6-8 pages is excessive, especially given that the site doesn't notify you about warnings. Simple oversight on my part, and obviously an oversight given that the rest of the story has proper categorization. -Edit Not bothering to recreate my work on this site.

Apologies for the tense problems. I've been proofreading my stuff since I'm used to writing in past tense, but some things slip through the cracks it seems. As for quirky titles... do you mean the link/page title thing? The first was due to a page collision. I suppose I could have changed the action prompt to something else, but I consider that a part of the story itself, and didn't want to change it due to a collision. Those are rare, I guess. The second was due to a plan where two mini-storylines would converge to the same page... but the actions to get there would be different. In this case I would prefer to use a third page title rather than favor one of the two storylines. The third time I did it... yeah, that was just for my amusement, and it would be a simple matter to limit usage of alternate titles and use them only when needed. So... yeah. In my defence of the above accusations, I would like to bring Blackdragon's attention to the message that appears at the bottom of the edit window. Specifically, if you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly, then don't submit here. The majority of my recent edits have centered around spelling, grammar, and readability, although I admit that here or there I add some embellishment or make changes to improve consistency and continuity. No one else on here seems to have a problem with that and realize that wikis are designed with collaboration in mind, and collaborative storytelling only makes for better more well rounded stories. In any case, I submit that if he considers his writing to be a sacred text that he changes his story type to private. But I'm definitely done with his whining. Apologies for the tense problems. I've been proofreading my stuff since I'm used to writing in past tense, but some things slip through the cracks it seems. As for quirky titles... do you mean the link/page title thing? The first was due to a page collision. I suppose I could have changed the action prompt to something else, but I consider that a part of the story itself, and didn't want to change it due to a collision. Those are rare, I guess. The second was due to a plan where two mini-storylines would converge to the same page... but the actions to get there would be different. In this case I would prefer to use a third page title rather than favor one of the two storylines. The third time I did it... yeah, that was just for my amusement, and it would be a simple matter to limit usage of alternate titles and use them only when needed. So... yeah. In my defence of the above accusations, I would like to bring Blackdragon's attention to the message that appears at the bottom of the edit window. Specifically, if you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly, then don't submit here. The majority of my recent edits have centered around spelling, grammar, and readability, although I admit that here or there I add some embellishment or make changes to improve consistency and continuity. No one else on here seems to have a problem with that and realize that wikis are designed with collaboration in mind, and collaborative storytelling only makes for better more well rounded stories. In any case, I submit that if he considers his writing to be a sacred text that he changes his story type to private. But I'm definitely done with his whining. He will see no further contributions from me.
