Strangle him with the wire

You slowly open the closet door and creep out. You sneak up close to your target as you pull out your wire and tighten it up in your grip. You swing your arms over the target’s neck and pull the wire up around his neck. He begins thrashing his legs and trying to pull the wire off his neck, but to no avail. Finally, his movements slow down and finally cease. His arms drop to his sides and his whole body goes limp. You lift the wire off from his neck and his head plops onto the carpet.

You are breathing heavily from the kill and Harvey hears it. “What happened?” he asks.

“I killed him,” you say enthusiastically. “He’s dead.”

Harvey chuckles and says. “Excellent work, man. Well, done. How’d you do it?”

You tell him your story about how you jumped through the window, hid in the closet, and strangled the target.

“Excellent work, man. Real professional work. No mess at all, right?”

You look over your body. Not a drop of blood was on you. “No, nothing,”

“Perfect. You’re done here. Come on back down here.”

You calmly walk out the door and back down the street to the car. You climb into the passenger seat and Harvey shakes you hand and says, “Congratulations. Your first hit. Makes you feel good, huh?”

“Like I’m a god,” you reply.

“Yeah, I know the feeling.” They two of you drive back to Boston and Harvey drops you off outside your apartment building.

That night, you are sitting on your couch watching Deal or No Deal when your cell phone rings. “What is it?” you answer.

Harvey’s voice says, “Dude, turn on channel nine. You’re on T.V.”

You flip to channel nine. You see Marcus’s house surrounded with police tape. The reporter says, “…Thomson was killed earlier this day at his home in Quincy. This is just one in a series of violent crimes in the Quincy area that ended with a bang today.”

The broadcast changes to a recording of an interview with a Detective Jack Marino. He says, “About five people have been reported to have been killed in this town in the last couple months, all by the same man using the same weapons. Today, we found out that our victim here, Marcus Thomson, is the assassin that killed all these people. We found dozens of combat knives and stolen guns on the premises. We believe that his death is likely some form of retaliation for one of his murders.

The reporter continues, “The police have no clues to the identity of the person who killed Mr. Thompson, but Detective Marino states, ‘We remain hopeful that we will find him.’”

“You did it, man,” says Harvey. “A nice clean kill. Untraceable. Just like a professional.”

“Yeah, looks like I’m safe, huh?”

“Looks like it. Hey, I think you’re ready to take on a mission alone. What do you say?’

“Yeah, sounds good.”
