Twenty minutes later, you arrive at school. Your watch reads 7:50, leaving you with some odd ten minutes before the first bell rings. You've been a fan of arriving earlier, so you're not sure why you did today; maybe you're still a little buzzed?

Regardless, you cross the gate, showing your ID to the moronic-looking guard the school hired to watch the gate, and head towards the area you usually waste time in. The usual people are there: this one guy you don't particularly like, this other one you find particularly stupid, and a cute, curvy scene girl you'd love to spend the night with--probably due to the first two traits, than the later one. Unfortunately, she's coupled with the first guy, who's suppose to be one of your friend; the other kids you hang out with aren't here in the morning.

You stumble up to them wearing a large, silly smile, and grab the first one by the shoulders as you shout, "Sup! Jake. How you doing on this fine, beautiful day?" You're not normally that silly when you talk, but, somehow, you ended up acting like them, around them; you hate yourself a little for it.

The guy responds with the same smile, before hugging you by the shoulder, and putting on a thick, fake voice, "Oh hi, Luki. I'm doing fine. You you doing this fine day?"

You return the gesture, leaning him into the second guy, who joins the hug, in the process. Your tried to match his accent, "I'm doing good. Thanks for asking."

"Hey guys," the second guy goes, in a faux-suave voice, "I want in on this hug too."

The three of you laugh, before the hug breaks and you receive a hug from the girl. "Heyya Luka," she says, in a playful voice.

Your arms wrap around hers, and let go at the same time. "Heyya, Lea." You can't help but giggle at the rhyme, causing her to giggle. Still, you turn to the second guy and fist bump, "Sup, Gab?"

"What, no hug for me?" he goes.

"Aww... fine." The two of you give a show hug, slapping one another on the back as you do, and break laughing again.

During the hug, Jack and Lea entered couples mode, and you felt like a cock-block whenever you talked to either of them in that stage. You enjoyed it, but couldn't find a good enough reason to do it. Instead, you chatted with Gabe for a few minutes, before the bell rang and Jack turned to you, "Wanna come to my house today, Luka?"

"Aren't you going with Lea?" you ask.

"Nah, she's getting picked up today. Family thing."

You nod, "Maybe. I donno. There's stuff I need do." Like get some weed, somehow or other. Hopefully.

"Alright," he replies.

By that point, Gab had vanished, and Jack and Lea went off hand in hand. You watch them for a moment; or, more specifically, you watch Lea's movements. A few seconds pass and they disappeared into the growing crowd, and you head off to class.

Though thirteen, you're already in a freshman in high school, and somehow got thrown into the "challenging" classes at your school. They only seem challenging to you in the sense that you find it difficult to stay away. You tend to sleep during your first period science--Biology Honors--class, and your teacher has generally stopped caring. Some teachers are like that in this school: if the student doesn't seem to care, they don't either.

The class proceeds as it usually does, with the teacher greeting everyone, and trying to be fun and hip and "modern" but mostly ending up being annoying and used. It's bothersome, though you don't often let it get to you. Mostly because you usually smoke before school starts. You're fully sober, unfortunately, today and have to suffer through an hour and a quarter of the man. You spend it chatting it with the tall blond kid that sits next to you--Blake, you think--over which girls in the class were the cutest, which the hottest, and which the most likely to blow you in the bathroom during passing period.

At last, though, the bell rings, you say bye, and head to your next class--which you usually find far more entertaining.

You walk into your Language Arts class and take your seat in the last row. You'd gotten to pick the seat yourself at the start of the year, and regret your choice not. You can see everyone from here, while avoiding most glaces yourself (only one other guy sits in the back, and he's usually missing). It's also the only class in which you actively participate, mostly because you find the teacher interesting.

The man, Alexander Thoring, is one of the youngest teachers you've ever meet, at the age of twenty-six. He still has his young looks, and also his young tastes. You've heard he flirts with your upperclassmen quite commonly. Though, in his defense, it tends to be the girls that come onto him. Even in your class, the girls nearly walk into his arms. You can understand why: the man has a youngster's face, with friendly blue eyes, and pink lips always curled into a charming smile. His posture is resolute, and his body--usually shielded by a light designer tee and khaki shorts--is at it's peak state.

The entertaining part comes from that, despite openly flirting with some of the girls, he does the same to you at a more discreet level. Sometimes you wonder how far he'd go, but you can't imagine you'd be the only one. Still... one can dream.

A voice--his--calls you into consciousness, "Luka? Luuuuuuka?"

You shake your head and laugh weakly as everyone stares you, who'd spent the last good while staring at the teacher. "Yeah?" You ask.

"Nice of you to join us," Thoring says smugly. "If you can stay with us long enough, please help with us question three on page 249."

He gets a slight chuckle out of the class, as you rush to reach the page and read the question.

You...
