This will be a mobster/gangster, cops-n-robbers-style story. Think Al Capone, Scarface, Godfather, Miami Vice.
In fact, that will be your first choice:
What era would you like to start your criminal empire? The era/mafia you choose will also dictate the general region of the USA the story will be set in, as well as other variables specific to that era, area, and criminal empire.
1920s-30s: Al Capone era, Chicago 1930s-50s: Godfather Corleone era, New York 1960s-70s: Scarface era, Florida 1980s-90s: Miami Vice era, also Florida 2000-2020: Modern era, Los Angeles
