Violet sat in her room; staring at the carriages in the courtyard. It was late to still be in her night clothes, but no one dared lecture the quiet, dark eyed girl. It wasn't that the staff was afraid of her, but rather afraid that she might give them the sad gaze she'd turned on most people since her father passed. A knock at the door stirred Violet from her thoughts.

"Come in."

A maid entered the room. "My lady, the King wishes to see all of you in the throne room....Would you like me to help you change?"

"No, thank you."

Should she change before she goes to the throne room?
