You don't feel like telling your boss straight what's wrong... The thought makes you slightly uncomfortable. It's a delicate situation, after all. So you opt for trying to be subtle and explain the situation without going into details.
"It's... female problems," you mutter.
Frank makes a choking sound on the other end, and you're not sure whether he found your statement utterly outrageous or he's about to burst out laughing. "Female problems? Are you kidding me?"
"No."
He huffs. "What the hell is that?"
Oh. Alright, he's actually oblivious... "Well..." Okay, but you really don't know how to say it without actually telling what it is! "Just... female problems..."
"And?" He sounds impatient.
You take a deep breath. "Problems... with the body... Hormonal problems..." You chuckle softly.
"Uh..." Now he's confused.
"Yeah. It's better if I stay home, really. Maybe for some time even." You don't really feel like telling him how long your heat may last. Maybe you'll tell him later or he'll find out on his own (which you would prefer, to be honest). He has a wolf employee, he should educate himself.
"Alright." Frank sounds calm again. "I'll find someone to replace you today and will change the schedule, just because of you. But you're not going to get paid for the days you'll miss, got it?"
You sigh, half-relieved half-tired. "Of course."
"Good. Get well."
He hangs up on you.
You throw your phone on the bed and groan, falling back as well. God, was it embarrassing. You truly can be awkward with others sometimes.
And it feels as though you're getting even wetter, already nearly leaking.
