Well gosh darn it- what kind of tourist would you be if you didn't flamboyantly violate the law?

Despite the illegality and the just plain rudeness, you decide to break into room 103.

You smile brightly at the innkeeper. "Okay. I'm sure I'll find him around."

Back in your room, you grab a bobby pin. You were pretty good at picking locks in junior high. That was a long time ago, though. You hope your skills are still fresh.

As you exit your room, you glance furtively around the hallway. No one's about. Michael's room is next door to yours. You kneel in front of the door and inspect the lock. This shouldn't be too bad you think. After a few minutes of working the lock, you hear a satisfying click. You open the door and slip quietly into the room.

It's surprisingly neat. The bed's made, and Michael's luggage is on the dresser. There's no one here. One thing that catches your eye is a book sitting on the bedside table. You look closer. It's his journal. There's nothing else around that would give you any indication of Michael's whereabouts.
