سورة الفاتحة أو السبع المثاني أو أم الكتاب هي أعظم سورة في القرآن الكريم، لقول النبي محمد: «الحمد لله رب العالمين هي السبع المثاني، والقرآن العظيم الذي أوتيته»، وذلك لأنها افتتح بها المصاحف في الكتابة، ولأنها تفتتح بها الصلاة في القراءة لسورة الفاتحة أسماء كثيرة عدها السيوطي في كتاب الإتقان في علوم القرآن خمسًا وعشرين اسمًا بين ألقاب وصفات جرت على ألسنة القراء من عهد السلف، ومنها: القرآن العظيم، وسورة الحمد، والوافية، وا ولقد أجمع جمهور العلماء على أن آيات سورة الفاتحة سبع آيات وذلك باتفاق القراء والمفسرين، ولم يشذ عن ذلك إلا ثلاثة: الحسن البصري وقال أنهن ثمان آيات، وقال عمرو بن عبيد والحسين الجعفي أنهن ست آيات، واستدل الجمهور بقول الرسول: «السبع المثاني». وتعد السورة سورة مكية أُنزلت قبل هجرة الرسول من مكة، وهو قول أكثر العلماء، وكان ترتيبها في النزول خامسًا على قول بدر الدين الزركشي بعد سورة العلق وسورة القلم وسورة المزمل

اشتملت السورة على أغراض عدة، وهي: حمد الله وتمجيده، والثناء عليه بذكر أسمائه، وتنزيهه عن جميع النقائص، وإثبات البعث والجزاء، وإفراده بالعبادة والاستعانة، والتوجه إليه بطلب الهداية إلى الصراط المستقيم، والتضرع إليه بتثبيتهم على الصراط المستقيم، والإخبار عن قصص الأمم السابقين، كما اشتملت السورة على الترغيب في الأعمال الصالحة. وذكَّرت بأساسيات الدين: شكر نعم الله في قوله: الحمد لله، والاخلاص لله في قوله: إياك نعبد وإياك نستعين، والصحبة الصالحة في قوله: صراط الذين أنعمت عليهم، وتذكر أسماء الله الحسنى وصفاته في قوله: الرحمن الرحيم، والاستقامة في قوله: اهدنا الصراط المستقيم، والآخرة في قوله: مالك يوم الدين، بالإضافة لأهمية الدعاء في قوله: إياك نعبد، وإياك نستعين

سورة الفاتحة أو السبع المثاني أو أم الكتاب هي أعظم سورة في القرآن الكريم، لقول النبي محمد: «الحمد لله رب العالمين هي السبع المثاني، والقرآن العظيم الذي أوتيته»، وذلك لأنها افتتح بها المصاحف في الكتابة، ولأنها تفتتح بها الصلاة في القراءة لسورة الفاتحة أسماء كثيرة عدها السيوطي في كتاب الإتقان في علوم القرآن خمسًا وعشرين اسمًا بين ألقاب وصفات جرت على ألسنة القراء من عهد السلف، ومنها: القرآن العظيم، وسورة الحمد، والوافية، وا ولقد أجمع جمهور العلماء على أن آيات سورة الفاتحة سبع آيات وذلك باتفاق القراء والمفسرين، ولم يشذ عن ذلك إلا ثلاثة: الحسن البصري وقال أنهن ثمان آيات، وقال عمرو بن عبيد والحسين الجعفي أنهن ست آيات، واستدل الجمهور بقول الرسول: «السبع المثاني». وتعد السورة سورة مكية أُنزلت قبل هجرة الرسول من مكة، وهو قول أكثر العلماء، وكان ترتيبها في النزول خامسًا على قول بدر الدين الزركشي بعد سورة العلق وسورة القلم وسورة المزمل اشتملت السورة على أغراض عدة، وهي: حمد الله وتمجيده، والثناء عليه بذكر أسمائه، وتنزيهه عن جميع النقائص، وإثبات البعث والجزاء، وإفراده بالعبادة والاستعانة، والتوجه إليه بطلب الهداية إلى الصراط المستقيم، والتضرع إليه بتثبيتهم على الصراط المستقيم، والإخبار عن قصص الأمم السابقين، كما اشتملت السورة على الترغيب في الأعمال الصالحة. وذكَّرت بأساسيات الدين: شكر نعم الله في قوله: الحمد لله، والاخلاص لله في قوله: إياك نعبد وإياك نستعين، والصحبة الصالحة في قوله: صراط الذين أنعمت عليهم، وتذكر أسماء الله الحسنى وصفاته في قوله: الرحمن الرحيم، والاستقامة في قوله: اهدنا الصراط المستقيم، والآخرة في قوله: مالك يوم الدين، بالإضافة لأهمية الدعاء في قوله: إياك نعبد، وإياك نستعين وإن لسورة الفاتحة أهمية كبيرة في الإسلام وكذلك في حياة المسلم، فهي ركن عظيم من أركان الصلاة، فالصلاة لا تصح إذا لم تُقرأ الفاتحة فيها على الرأي الراجح عند جمهور العلماء، فقد روي عن أبي هريرة عن النبي قال: «من صلى صلاةً لم يقرأ فيها بأم القرآن فهي خِدَاجَ - ثلاثاً- غير تمام». وفي رواية أخرى: «لا صلاة لمن لم يقرأ بفاتحة الكتاب
