You rush back to your room and cower, hiding in the closet. You try to cover your ears to drown out the sounds coming from down the hall, but you can hear Melanie's screams grow louder and more pained. You know what the men are doing, and it fills your heads with awful visions of her suffering. You feel like a coward, but that's exactly what you are, so it's par for the course.

After awhile, you hear a few dull thuds, and Melanie stops screaming. You listen as the house falls silent, only the patter of the rain on the roof and windows echo in your ears. Finally, as you wonder what's become of the men, you hear the front door slam, and realize they must have simply walked right out of your home.
