You move over to her, latching onto a crate you begin moving it into a storage room. 

Joan smiles at you as you work, "So how's life going for you?"

You look up to her, saying "Pretty well for someone in a sleepy little town like this. How is Mac?"

"He sent a letter the other day actually." Longing glimmers through her eyes. "He is still going to be a week or so before he gets back, but he is well. Says he even saw my sister." Snapping out of her moment, Joan looks at you with a cheeky grin. "And how is your man, if I may ask?"

Freezing and blushing momentarily, you quickly regain your composure.
