You turn and brace yourself, catching the feral mother's crooked claws between your blades. There is a brief struggle as you gaze into her eyes maddened with grief, then a sickly snapping sound as your superior blades declaw the beast. She recoils and shrieks in shock, and in her moment of vulnerable disbelief you push forward, crossing your blades against her neck and lopping off her head with the same ease as you did her daughter's. Her lithe body collapses to the ground as her head topples over to rest near the head of her daughter, the two of them having the same look of shock and fear fixed onto their faces. For a moment you feel a deep, sickly feeling in your gut, as if you had been eviscerated by the very claws you shattered. You close your eyes and think of Elizabeth, quelling the dark feeling and moving toward the gate leading into her domain.
