You quickly say your goodbyes to your friends, intent on getting away before you are forced to listen to the long dramatic goodbyes of everyone else. 

The local jeweler takes the chance to present you with a simple, yet elegant silver necklace covered with masterly crafted decorations. It doesn't look too fancy, yet screams of hard work. Though you rarely use jewelry, you are rather fond of the pretty sheen of the silver, especially in moonlight. You thank him and promise to wear it to the occasion, fully aware this will be good advertisement for his business.

The local smith gifts you a number of lethal custom-crafted throwing knives, just the way you like them. Perfect! you'd ran out and didn't have the money to get such pricey equipment right now. Despite the frowns of random strangers about gifting weaponry to a lady, he gets a heartfelt thanks from you. 

Mica - one of the elder castle guards - surprises you with a set of Black combat gloves and arm-guards, along with shin-protectors and combat boots. Judging by the quality of these items and his general income, you'd say he spent at least a year's salary on these. You're torn between telling him he shouldn't have spent this much money for a farewell gift and the urge to jump him. You end up doing both. He chuckles and puts you down. "I would know of no better investment than your happiness, milady" he says with an extremely polite tone while mock bowing. 

"I.. thanks." is all you manage to say before he hugs you and tells you to take care of yourself. Such a sweetie-pie, no wonder you couldn't stop teasing him continuously for the past 4 years. You hug him and kiss him on the cheek, a rather rare thing for you to do. You may be playful and tease people a lot, but you almost never actually get physical with them.

"You take care too, sweetie-pie." you say as you turn around and hurry off before he notices the blush on your cheeks. Leaving him standing there dazed. You feel invigorated and ready for anything as you run up to your carriage and meet your escort party.

You recognize all 20 of the guards as some of the best men from your honor guard back during the war. Seems your wartime buddies volunteered to escort you. There's a bunch of servants too but you don't bother to count them, fully intent on ditching the slow foot-servants anyway.

As you go to greet them, a large, burly middle aged man with a large scar across his face approaches you. You recognize him immediately as Duran - The captain of your father's personal guard. Most girls are scared of him, but you know how to appreciate the company of a veteran warrior such as him. Walking up right behind him is Xavier, a somewhat eccentric foreigner whose skill with the blade is unrivaled and a master of battle tactics who taught you many of the best strategies you used in the war. Despite dire protests from local nobility, you made him the commander of your honor guards since he was by far the best man for the job. Not to mention his weird mustache and odd habits do a lot to brighten up your days.

"Ah you've finally arrived lass." Duran speaks to you without any of the formality people normally treat a member of the royal family with. Another reason you like him. His drinking habits are something you like a lot less however. Xavier stands off to the side, playing with his funny mustache while you talk to Duran.

"Ah, nothing beats the smell of alcohol in the morning does it, Duran." you say sarcastically. "So, are we all ready to go?" He rolls his eyes at your sarcasm. "The escort's ready whenever you are. Didn't think you'd be so eager to get going, though. Something good happen?"

"Uh, nothing really..." -You quickly change the topic to avoid the faint blush you feel rising to your cheeks- "So Duran, since you're escorting me there you should finally be able to tell me who I'm going to be marrying, no?"

Duran smirks. He's sure to have noticed the way you're acting. "Sure lass. We'll be taking you to... :"
