History

Origination

The GBYWN United States Championship was first designed to be utilized in Battle Born Wrestling (BBW) as the BBW United States Heavyweight Championship. Although it was created in early 2009, the federation ceased to assemble contenders to contest the championship until a Fatal Four Way match for the title was scheduled at West Fest on August 22, 2009 in Salt Lake City, Utah, where BBW Owner Rad Hazard defeated Nails, Rich Cross and Randy Cranmer to become the first to win the title.

Championship Activity

Rad Hazard of Battle Born Wrestling won a Four Way match with Nails, Rich Cross and Randy Cranmer at West Fest in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 22, 2009 to become the inaugural GBYWN United States Champion. Nearly two months later, he unsuccessfully defended the championship against The Pen Name at Day 2 of ICW Midwest Extravaganza on October 25, 2009. The Pen Name went on to hold the championship for a record 511 days, and at Day 2 of CCW Burn This City in Greensville, Indiana on March 20, 2011, in a contest held as a GBYWN Match of the Year candidate, Hazard defeated TPN to regain the title. Three months later on Day 1 of BXW Paul Kunkle Memorial 2 in Bethelehem, Pennsylvania on June 11, Hazard lost the title to Patrick Wade Wilson in a Street Fight, but quickly regained the title 3:35 minutes later following a chair shot after he was given the chance by Wilson to cash in for a rematch at anytime and any place.
