The Elite was a backyard wrestling heel stable in 2KW which consisted last of leader William Black, Joe Bullrog, Statik and SyNN, who was usually accompanied by ToXXSyNN. The group was originally birthed in 2001 and was the premiere faction of 2KW.

The Elite were a close-knit destructive wrecking crew that created impact through physical annihilation against the opposition, imposing a reckoning force. Grifter was the mouthpiece behind the broadcasted success of the 2007 to 2008 version along with his executive authority as DWE management Representative which was often abused.

When Grifter quit The Elite which regrouped thereafter, The Elite lastly began focusing on the empowerment of holding all power and gold as the "Gold Elite" version. The Elite disbanded after an abrupt loss of championship gold and a collision of egos between William Black and Kris Kage.

History

2KW

Original Elite

In 2001 during the parnership of 2KW (then known fully at 2000 Wrestling) with Ghetto Wrestling Alliance, a formation between J.S.A as the GWA/2KW World Champion, SyNN as the GWA/2KW Television Champion and Vinny Mac took place which became known as The Elite and kept to a trio movement. Following the split of the GWA and 2KW united world titles, William Black prevailed in a Battle Royal for the 2KW Championship and joined the group. By the end of the year, Elite feuded with Speed Demon and 2KW Intercontinental Champion WASP, who subsequently betrayed his partner and became the final member of the original Elite group.

Domination and signs of trouble (2007)

Much subsequently due to limited information, on the March 10, 2007 edition of 2KW, Check was involved in a TV Title Tournament and challenged Grifter, accompanied by SyNN in The Elite, during a round one match. Down to the last moments of the bout, Grifter countered a chokeslam attempt by Check shoving him to the floor and incoherently receiving a pinfall victory. It was then unveiled after Check stood up gleefully embracing Grifter that he aligned with the group. Within the villainous Elite, SyNN was the silent out-of-control bully that needed restraint, Grifter was the mouthpiece, and Check was the third member that added to their presence.

At the same event, The Elite heightened their upstart by executing reckless acts of brutality featured during SyNN's first "Open Challenge" or anything goes hardcore bout which prominently began with Saylo. The vile onslaught would involve light tubes, chairs, and a cinnapore cane. Physical assaults included what became the group's signature attack, a collaborative vicious running kick to the head, Grifter's One Sick Ass Clothesline (OSAC), SyNN's swinging trench coat as well as signature powerbomb manuever dubbed SyNNDrome. Their dominance was carried on during Dubb C's spotlight segment beating down LESW owner Chris Torres and Joey "Doomsday" Resto, who stepped up belligerently to help Torres against The Elite but was ultimately assaulted, Synndromed into a spot of fire and almost set on fire which resulted in one of the craziest moments of the year.

Grifter proceeded to lose in the semi-finals of the TV Title Tournament to V.i.P. The Elite also made a name from their political screwjobs to other wrestlers usually while officiating each others matches or interfering to give the assist. A feud started when he accused Jamal Jackson of humilating him during an appearance outside 2KW and during 2KW commentary that he took offense to as the one that "runs the show", which became conspicuous through Jackson's blatant sarcasm and fuelled Grifter's insanity leading to a short feud between the two. Grifter and Check ended up defeating Doomsday and Jamal Jackson in a tag team match on the April 14 tapings. Elite kept themselves relevant savaging Scythe in another Synn "Open Challenge". Check around this time, was rewarded a supposedly vacated European Title by Grifter after defeating previous champion, Ex-Con.

Quite soon, The Elite decreased their extreme hardcore antics but continued to physically devastate. In the summer of 2007, Check lost the European Title to Whiplash and went on to defeat Mike Goldston for the 2KW Title. In September, while defending champion Check faced Raze, William Black made an interference halting a slow count by the referee and delivering an F5 on Raze, essentially assisting Check to retaining the title but also joining The Elite which exceptionally did not go well with Check. The referee was also revealed to be in on the officiating and mistakenly thought to be apart of the group. Check proceeded to have a remarkable hardcore bout with Saylo which also saw him retain his title, but soon lost it to Raze. Moreover, Check's problems within The Elite continued to grow against an arrogant Black and Grifter and the status of the group before 2007 closed out.

Continued Domination, Regrouping of The Elite, and Dissention (2008-2009)

In March, it became apparent in the 2008 season premiere that Check dissociated with The Elite and in turn, became a fan favorite going against the stable. The Elite adopted a comical attitude on occasion, but remained as a reckoned force. ToXXSyNN, SyNN’s girlfriend was introduced as his new accompany. Grifter, still the executive of the show as DWE management Representative, coined a new catchphrase which worked popularly with calling the audience and adversaries "faggots". William Black, after placing an open challenge due to being upset over his procrastinated 2KW World Title match against an injured Raze, entered a hardcore rivalry with FNB of Team Stiff who answered the challenge that resulted in a hellacious outcome. Black, having won the NEW Heavyweight Championship at a New Epic Wrestling event, shortly began sporting around the title circa when Grifter engaged in a dispute with C-Red. Not long after, SyNN and Grifter had won and started wearing the NEW Tag Team Championships.

The Elite proclaimed that people such as Pyro, Matt Vengeance, Check, C-Red, Scythe and FNB all wanted to be the elite, but declared they would convey why The Elite truly are The Elite. In a scheduled match against Scythe and FNB until the addition of an aerial arriving Saylo, the match was cut short following SyNN’s sneaky roll up on Saylo for the victory and an aftermath beatdown which ensued. The group later started targeting Statik causing his disappearance as well as Check, Hollywood and C-Red. SyNN and Grifter formed a deal with 2KW Tag Team Champions Bacardi & Cola (Jamal Jackson and G Murda) to mutually assist one another in retaining their tag titles in forthcoming bouts. However, SyNN and Grifter lost their tag titles in a Four Way Team match to Zoltan and on the same event, Black prevailed over Raze for the 2KW Title. At Just Another Night on June 14, Grifter notiably incepted teaming with Scorpion to a loss, SyNN endured a loss to a returning Statik and Black ended up failing to retain his title in the main event against G-Styles, the winner of the 2KW Title Tournament for contention.

In the ramifications of a unsuccessful night – where none of the members won their matches, a dissention within The Elite wedged in the bond of the group and more so after Grifter opted to be a better executive and give opportunities to “new up and coming guys” like C-4 instead of biasely sanctioning a rematch for Black. As a result, Grifter claimed he quit the stable stemming from Black’s arrogance and act of blaming him for the loss. Zoltan, who also defeated Bacardi and Cola at Just Another Night to become Undisputed Tag Team Champions, stepped up to challenge an equally reluctant but receptive Grifter and William Black in a tag match. During the match, Grifter receded from action leaving Black by himself. In a twist of matters, Black allowed Zoltan to get the win to seem as though Black sided with them. SyNN appeared to be in defense of Grifter against all of them, but tricked Grifter into an attack by Zoltan, Black and himself – all of whom essentially regrouped as a newer version of Elite.

Shortly, 2KW Television Champion C-4 attacked Jamal Jackson to effectively end their substitute tag team partnership from Just Another Night (due to G Murda’s absence) upon his entrance into The Elite. Kris Kage, the new mouthpiece of the faction, declared they were out for absolute power and gold as “The Elite Gold Edition” or “The Gold Elite”. An offer was given to 2KW Champion G-Styles to join but was ultimately declined. Black pursued the 2KW Title from G-Styles but resulted unsuccessful. Elite soon began being dispossessed of their reigns of supremacy against the roster when Joe Bullrog (C4) lost his Television Title to Hollywood and Black lost his NEW Title in the rekindled feud with FNB.

The 2009 season outset for The Elite turned out momentous with Black recapturing the NEW Title at a 2KW/RWA Supershow in Rhode Island in February. On the season premiere of 2KW on March 7, all members of The Elite debuted their new “E” Elite shirts and unified of the NEW and 2KW Tag Team Titles to create the 2KW United Tag Team Championship. At that same show, Zoltan retained their titles against A-List and Grifter and Pyro. Black sought to establish history by holding the NEW and 2KW Title simultaneously by winning the main event that night which he had not. Futhermore, DWE Representative Jamal Jackson decided to unify both championships and reward it to Angel Ortiz, who had won the 2KW Title at the event. Thus, Black was conpensated with a shot at the Television Title successfully defeating Hollywood for it. Joe Bullrog also later won the European Title from Jackson.

2KW Junior Heavyweight Champion, Statik joined The Elite betraying his short term tag partner Tek. The shift of power was fully regained for a short time until 2KW Divided We Stand on April 25 where Statik was beated by Novan Avila for his title, Zoltan lost their Tag Team belts to A-List leaving Black as the only member that retained his TV Title against Raze on that night. Following that, Black gloated around showing his arrogance claiming that the group "lacks focus" and if it wasn’t for him, and wanting to take Elite to the promised land, The Elite would have capsized long ago. Kris Kage defended in statements claiming that Zoltan saved the group during its dissention months ago and he himself had more work as the "mouthpiece" and the "recruiter", while Black had leaded and worried about himself declaring he was through with it, essentially claiming he could handle being a leader better than Black. Black partially withdraw himself to allow Kage to lead.

After Elite achieved a victory over Ray Sexy, Nolan Avila and A-List, Black made an appearance to respect their success without him but refused to disregard the outcome of Divided We Stand. This forced Joe Bullrog to remind Black why they grouped saying Elite was about mutual support and not only about him, and added "you and Kage talking about being the leader, f*ck being the leader, it's who should get the gold...all of us". Black acknowledged not forgetting but reminded he was the only one with gold and reenforced that he should be leader. On May 23 in the aftermath of Statik prevailing over FX, The Elite including Black cohesively assaulted FX and appeared to be on the same page. Black voiced saying as a collective unit and with him, they are effective and requested apologies from everyone in the group for all the disrespect. All gave in, Zoltan as Kage apologized, however, on the fact that he allowed Black to lead him and Whiplash and that he had not superkicked him months ago enunciating how tired he was to hear Black brag his position dating back to 2KW's inception while newer guys were around. This officially signified Zoltan's separation from the group. The newly formed Black Express (Bullrog and Black) faced Zoltan the following week to a win. Eventually soon, The Elite as a group silently broke off.
