Visignis

Admin: /* History */

Visignis is the child of Pyrodeus and Tamina. He inherited his father's agelessness and mastery of fire, though to a lesser extent. His gifts of angelic wisdom and fighting prowess, coupled with the human ability to manifest energy from emotion, make Visignis a force to be reckoned with.
----
History
Warning: Spoilers below.
----
*Son of Pyrodeus: When Tamina and Pyrodeus copulated between attacks from the Sons of Plunder, they conceived a child. After Pyrodeus' return to Heaven, Tamina began showing sings of pregnancy. Because her son was half-angel, the labor pains, hormonal balances and stretch marks usually associated with human pregnancy were either greatly lessened or nonexistent since angelic pregnancies, while involving growth and birth in a similar fashion, have none of the unpleasantness of human conception. Mere seconds after his birth, Visignis displayed the strength and muscle coordination necessary to lift and move his head, and smile.

His abilities of fire manipulation manifested at approximately age ten when the Locust Tribe, a nomadic barbarian tribe that would enter an area and consume everything before moving on, attempted to capture, rape and kill Tamina in a city street. They did this partially for propaganda reasons; Tamina's brother and Visignis' uncle, Calcaneus, was the strongest fighter and strategist in the army of Ferdas, Visignis' hometown. Visignis was able to defeat both Locusts in a fit of rage, unlocking his fiery abilities in the process.

Seven years later Visignis was grown into a more than capable fighter, his strong human warrior bloodline mixing flawlessly with the angelic traits inherited by Pyrodeus. He was given his mother's sword, a crimson scimitar originally given to her by Pyrodeus during the second attack of the Sons of Plunder. With it came a metallic cuff that was indestructible, and allowed Visignis to wield the sword while preventing any others from doing so. Visignis met Tresdos, an assassin hired to kill him, at this time. After Visignis displayed the ability to kill Tresdos, the assassin joined the Ferdan army and assisted in a raid on the Locusts. Using this weapon and his fiery abilities (which augmented seamlessly with the sword Pyrodeus forged), Visignis was able to destroy the entire Locust Tribe along with the city of Ferdas.

*Deus Ex Machina: Three thousand years later, Visignis has become a billionaire using compound interest over a lifetime unbound by old age. He had invented his own martial art, which he called Drengoba. For a short time he taught it, but quickly learned that a very few humans had the physical capabilities needed to master the art. He met an Etrahn girl named Diana, with whom he fell in love, and her brother, Drake the Powerful (the same name as Visignis' great grandfather). The modern Drake the Powerful was a Perceiver. Visignis, along with Drake and several other humans, fought off the Machine God - a massive robot who controlled an entire machine army from an underground base. Visignis, after seeing Diana killed in battle, was able to destroy the Machine God and form a fireball large enough to destroy the robot base, and after gathering strength from those around him, made it intense enough to wipe out all machines.

Not long after this, Visignis was able, with some divine intervention, to create the Diana's Tear Rose - the most fragrant and sturdiest rose on Etrah, with deep crimson petals. He then left his wealth behind for several millennia and traveled the world, learning all he could.

Approximately five thousand years after this, Visignis began teaching Drengoba once more. One very faithful offshoot was adopted by the Reyone Army as Reyone Military Martial Arts, or RMMA.

*Clash of the Nephilim: Not long after, Visignis was captured by Dr. Dominic Sathers, a geneticist and biochemist bent on creating a race of half-angels, or nephilim, to please Cryodivus whom he worships. He managed to do so by stealing a broken piece of a katana which Cryodivus gave to Visignis for his 7,000th birthday. Visignis then met Viviana, a human with one-quarter angelic blood (she was the offspring of a nephilim who raped her mother) bent on destroying all nephilim, citing them as a scourge that needed to be wiped from Etrah. Viviana proved to be a capable fighter, with superhuman reflexes and strength, as well as the ability to fire purple energy beams from her eyes.

After their initial battle, Visignis and Viviana teamed up to hunt and destroy the nephilim she had found. During this time, Visignis found himself and Viviana to be exceptions to the rule; every nephilim they came across were homicidal and destructive. During this time, Dr. Sathers created Alginax, a genetically enhanced nephilim created from the magic Cryodivus had imbued into the katana. Upon his birth Alginax promptly killed Sathers as a sacrifice to Cryodivus. The human blood made him stronger, and Alginax eventually slaughtered an entire cult of Cryodivus' worshippers. Viviana and Visignis then fought him, and Viviana was killed by Alginax. Shortly thereafter, Visignis tapped into the power he had used in Ferrdas long ago. Enhanced by nearly 8,000 years of training, Visignis proved more than a match for Alginax in head-to-head combat. Alginax was able to freeze Visignis for long enough to plead for Cryodivus' help. Cryodivus, after denouncing the acts of Alginax, freed Visignis from the ice that imprisoned him, and Visignis killed Alginax.

He was severely injured by an explosion of ice energy caused by Alginax's death, and kept on ice for fifty years in an attempt to reduce what human doctors thought was a fever, but was simply Visignis' body temperature. This cold environment kept Visignis in a comatose state until he was restored by Pyrodeus.

*Broken Heaven:Once awakened, Visignis was trained by his father in magical weaponsmithing, as well as learning to break down his own mental blocks against his potential power. After being badly wounded through Tresdos' efforts toward Magres Xerfal, an angelic divinity rite, Visignis was healed by Pyrodeus. After helping to gather and train an army of angels to do battle with Baalaose and his forces, Visignis' right hand and part of his bracer were severed by an errant attack by Taelyrn. Unconscious for the remainder of the fight, Visignis later awoke and repaired his bracer as well as giving it greater power and new abilities.
----
Spoilers end here.
----

Weapons, Powers and Abilities
Visignis carries the crimson scimitar originally wielded by Tamina which Pyrodeus forged long ago. He also wears a crimson metal bracer on his right forearm, which now bears Visignis' own seal. This artifact allows him to use the sword effortlessly, while preventing almost all others from doing so at all. The bracer doubles as a shield, impervious to most attacks. Eight millennia of wear and tear have done no damage to the sword or the bracer. Since being severed in battle, Visignis repaired and empowered his bracer. It now gives him an artificial right hand of pure fire, which he can retract to launch fireballs from the bracer. It is also now in six sections - one permanently affixed to what remains of Visignis' right forearm, the other five able to stretch apart to unknown lengths, giving Visignis' right hand the ability to grasp or strike objects and opponents from much farther away.

He also carries twin .357 magnum revolvers, which he created himself, in his boots. With help from Pyrodeus, Visignis was able to magically modify his revolvers. Each cylinder now carries 600 rounds, fired with the aid of magic. Visignis also has 2 types of magical cylinders built into his revolvers: rounds made from a plasma alloy which mushroom immensely on impact, and high-velocity armor piercing rounds made of an alloy resembling osmium.

Visignis inherited his father's abilities of fire manipulation. Since being reunited with his father, Visignis has learned a meditative skill allowing him to increase his power. To date, he has done so twice, multiplying his abilities of fire at least fivefold. He is also a skilled blacksmith, gunsmith, and mechanic. He has the human ability to create energy from emotion, a deadly ability when coupled with his fire manipulation.
Reyone Military Martial Arts

Admin: /* Ranking System */

Reyone Military Martial Arts, more commonly known as RMMA, is a martial arts program invented and taught by the Reyone Army. First implemented in 8906 AV, RMMA draws from several Etrahn martial arts but especially Drengoba, a martial art invented by Visignis around the year 200 AV. Like Drengoba, RMMA places heavy emphasis on remaining in almost constant motion, and incapacitating an enemy with a single strike whenever possible. These basic tenets require remarkable strength and endurance on the part of the student. In spite of the difficulty of mastering the art, a fairly large number of civilian dojos, simply called "facilities", exist in the northern continent, with dojo heads (both ex-military and civilian) of varying rankings.

Ranking System
There are twelve rankings in RMMA, each signified by a unique belt. Achieving a ranking in RMMA allows the student to teach and certify others up to one level below their own current ranking, one of the main reasons for the spread of RMMA facilities.

*White Belt: The first RMMA ranking, this level shows a basic knowledge of the ideas, if not necessarily the implementations, of RMMA.

*Yellow Belt: The second ranking of RMMA, this level is achieved by proving both knowledge and practical application of basic RMMA techniques. Yellow Belts can train and certify up to White Belt in RMMA.

*Green Belt: The third RMMA ranking displays skill slightly above basic RMMA skill and understanding of intermediate RMMA tenets. Green Belts can train up to Yellow Belt students. Green Belt or higher RMMA ranking is a prerequisite of graduation from Reyone Army basic training.

*Blue Belt: The fourth ranking of RMMA, Blue Belts have proven knowledge and skill of intermediate-level RMMA. Blue Belts can train Green Belt-level and below students. Blue Belt level RMMA is considered the level of training needed for a civilian to defend their self in most civilian situations.

*Purple Belt: The fifth ranking of RMMA. Purple Belts display adept RMMA understanding and skill. Units of the Reyone Army must be certified as a Purple Belt or higher before being assigned to active combat duty.

*Red Belt: The sixth ranking of RMMA. Red Belts must possess adept RMMA skill and advanced knowledge of the martial art. Red Belts can train and certify Purple Belt or lower rankings. Unless shown to be highly skilled with weapons, Reyone Army soldiers must achieve Red Belt ranking to enter combat. The majority or Reyone Army foot soldiers are certified Red Belt or higher.

*Orange Belt: The seventh RMMA ranking is achieved by both knowledge and skill of advanced RMMA techniques. Orange Belts cannot be certified until they display the ability to knock an opponent off of their feet with one blow. Orange Belts can train and certify the first 6 levels of RMMA, and as such an Orange Belt is required to open a civilian RMMA facility.

*Brown Belt: The eighth RMMA ranking, highly advanced knowledge and skill are required to achieve a Brown Belt. Brown Belts cannot be certified until they display the ability to remain in constant motion during a 5-minute sparring session.

*Black Belt, 1st degree: The ninth RMMA ranking, and the necessary ranking to be called 'master'. Most facilities are run by a 1st-degree or higher Black Belt, and only Reyone Army or ex-military have achieved a Black Belt. Black Belts cannot be certified until they display the ability to remain in constant motion, and knock at least 3 opponents off of their feet (rendering at least one unconscious), in the course of a 15-minute sparring session. In order to distinguish from other degrees of Black Belt, 1st-degrees have a single gold stripe on their belt.

*Black Belt, 2nd-degree: The tenth RMMA ranking. Achieving a 2nd-degree Black Belt requires an intimate knowledge of RMMA, and the ability to display skill at master-level. Achieving this ranking requires remaining in constant motion for an hour, and knocking all comers unconscious, during a sparring session. In order to distinguish from other degrees of Black Belt, 2nd-degrees have 2 parallel gold stripes on their belt. This is the highest achievable level during peace time.

*Black Belt, 3rd-degree: The eleventh RMMA ranking. Achieving this ranking requires complete knowledge of RMMA, and skill approaching their level of understanding. In order to achieve a 3rd-degree ranking, a witness must observe and testify to a 2nd-degree Black Belt killing at least 3 healthy enemy soldiers, one with a single blow, using only RMMA in a combat situation. In order to distinguish from other degrees of Black Belt, 3rd-degrees have 3 parallel gold stripes on their belt. There are less than 100 3rd-degree RMMA Black Belts alive today.

*Black Belt, 4th-degree: The twelfth, and highest possible, RMMA ranking. This is the only RMMA ranking that can certify others at a level equal to themselves. Certification requires killing no less than 5 healthy enemy soldiers (at least 2 of them armed) with a single blow, using only RMMA techniques. Because of the similar requirements to a flying ace, 4th-degree Black Belts are sometimes nicknamed "RMMAce". There are only 6 living RMMA 4th-degree Black Belts, though Visignis could arguably be considered a seventh. Colonel Darzul Vorca is the only 4th-degree Black Belt no longer enlisted in the Reyone Army.

Darzul

Admin:

Colonel Darzul Vorca is the leader of a militia in Thoncir which now polices and protects the city, in lieu of an absent police force.

History
Darzul joined the Junior Corps of the Reyone Army at age 16, and enlisted on his 18th birthday. He remained in the Army until the end of the Etrahn War and beyond, quickly rising to the rank of colonel. When the Reyone Army began genetic experimenting to create supersoldiers, Vorca was one of the unwilling test subjects. The experiments were successful beyond the hopes of the army, but informing the public of their success caused a partial downfall of the army. During this time, in an attempt to save face, the Reyone Army ran smear campaigns against a handful of supersoldiers and high-ranking officers. Colonel Vorca was both, and was dishonorably discharged, the reason cited being 'gross incompetence' despite the men he lead having the highest survival rate of any fighting battalion, and an above-average kill rate.

After his discharge from the Reyone Army, Vorca left the City and moved to Thoncir, a safe place for an unpopular fugitive since the police force collapsed during the war. He set up a small militia with a handful of his most loyal soldiers, using weapons and vehicles stolen from various Reyone Army bases. In time knowledge of the militia grew, and more former Reyone Army soldiers joined, as well as new recruits from Thoncir and the surrounding area. Eventually Darzul's militia became the de facto police for Thoncir, with a force of approximately 5,000 men.

Admin: /* Weapons, Powers and Abilities */

He had also invented his own martial art, which he called Drengoba. He met his love, an Etrahn girl named Diana, and her brother, Drake the Powerful (the same name as Visignis' great grandfather).

*Clash of the Nephilim: Approximately five thousand years after this, Visignis would be captured by Dr.

After being badly wounded through Tresdos' efforts toward Magres Xerfal, an angelic divination rite, Visignis was healed by Pyrodeus.

Warrior Angels: Chronicles Of The Defenders Of Heaven is a short story written by Mike Worth which explains the creation of the Warrior Angels, eight Guardians of the Gate designed to be able to fight anywhere at full power. This is a contrast from the original Guardians, who lose power the father they stray from the gates of Heaven. The story also acts as an exposition for several influential characters in the Blades of the Apocalypse universe.
Synopsis
Warning: Spoilers below.
----
Four of the five archangels, along with God, create eight Warrior Angels, powerful Guardians of the Gate whose power is independent of Heaven's gates, to counteract the growing power of Hell's forces. Upon Lucifer's realization that the Warrior Angels exist, he counters with five Sons of Plunder. While formulating a strategy against these new foes, the Warrior Angels stumble upon the rite of Magres Xerfal, but do not have the time to study it fully. The Sons of Plunder appear on Etrah, but are dispatched with remarkable ease by the Warrior Angels.

After their victory, the Warrior Angels join the party on Etrah celebrating victory. Aurumagnus left with Ventusamplus to attempt Magres Xerfal, while Pyrodeus left the party in the company of Etrahn warrior woman Tamina. (This encounter would later prove to be the conception of Visignis.) During this time, the Sons of Plunder receive full power (they had fought at only half their strength before, part of Lucifer's plan to distract the Warrior Angels) and return to Etrah.

Aurumagnus is killed by Magres Xerfal, the transfer of energy made fatal by a mistake in the ceremony. Ventusamplus, stricken with grief, does not leave the Sacred Altar of Divine Power until summoned. Hydrodurus and Silexops are possessed by Ruentomors and Iterophasmos, respectively. With Pyrodeus still with Tamina, the remaining Angels are outnumbered. Eventually the remaining Warrior Angels gather, destroying the Sons of Plunder but with only three Warrior Angels surviving the battle. Fulminerus is later killed by a failed attempt at Magres Xerfal. Cryodivus succeeds and disappears soon after, leaving Pyrodeus as the only surviving Warrior Angel actively defending Heaven.
Etrahn Timeline

Admin:

The following is a timeline for the world of Etrah:

Year 0: Etrah is formed.

Year 204: Etrah is now inhabited, thanks to divine works. The planet's foremost population consists of humans. The wildlife consists of many various insects, a few varieties of quadrupeds, and a few birds. Technology is nil, and humanity lives in the wild, among the animals.

Year 500: Angels visit Etrah, giving the blueprints for some basic technology, such as windmills, and boats. This sparks a technological revolution among the Etrahn people, and the world is suddenly filled with "inventors".

Year 614 (1 AV): The Warrior Angels do battle with the Sons of Plunder in the ancient city of Ferdas, with the Warrior Angels victorious. Human history is first recorded from this time forward, with monks recording time in AV years, for Angelic Victory.

17 AV: The city of Ferdas is reduced to rubble by Visignis. Much Etrahn technological progress is slowed by the annihilation of this major city in ancient times.

Circa 2000 AV: Etrahn technology now rivals that of present day Earth, and is still rapidly climbing.

3019 AV: The Machine Army, an enormous force of sentient robots, is destroyed by Visignis, preventing what would have been an inevitable human holocaust.

8008 AV: Present day.

This is a description of Warrior Angels in general. For the article on the Story, see Warrior Angels (story)

Warrior Angels are a special type of Guardians of the Gate in that their power is not limited by their distance from Heaven's gates. They can also increase their power by training and completing Magres Xerfal, though this is very rare. Only nine Warrior Angels have been created to date: eight Warrior Angels created purely through divine energy, and Tresdos, who gained his power by stealing the seal of Nocticertus, the ninth Warrior Angel created by Azrael. A list of all nine can be found here. However, more could theoretically be created by God.
Perceiver

Admin: /* Level 4 */

Perceivers are humans with the abilities of prophecy, second sight, and/or Truth Sense. According to research done by Visignis over several thousand years, approximately 1 in 250,000 people have Perceiver powers strong enough to use on a conscious level.
History
Visignis was the first person to coin the term 'Perceiver' approximately 7,000 years ago. Different Perceivers have had the abilities over the years, but the most powerful documented Perceiver was Drake the Powerful, a human who lived approximately 5,000 years ago. Drake was gifted with all three powers of perception, and was a powerful as an experienced adult Perceiver at the age of thirteen.
Powers and Abilities
Perceivers, by definition, are humans. While it may be possible for other races to have the abilities associated with Perceivers, they would not technically be called Perceivers. Some Perceivers are prophetic, some have second sight (the ability to see ghosts, demons, or angels which are invisible to other humans) and some have Truth Sense, an innate ability to predict (sometimes with 100% accuracy) the truthfulness of any statement. Some Perceivers have two or all three of these abilities. Upon his extended documentation, Visignis divided the abilities of Perceivers into four levels.

Level 1 (Beginner)
Young Perceivers usually start displaying Level 1 abilities starting at the beginning of the teenage years. If a child or teenager has Level 1 Perceiver abilities, it is often possible to advance the powers to Level 2 or even Level 3.

*Prophecy - A first-level Perceiver with prophecy is able to answer questions asked of them with a fair amount of certainty.
*Second Sight - A first-level Perceiver with second sight is able to see ghosts and other ethereal spirits, and communicate with them in dreams.
*Truth Sense - Level 1 Perceivers can ask questions and tell with a fair amount of certainty the truthfulness of the response. It is fairly commmon for Perceivers to have two or even all three abilities at Level 1.

Level 2 (Standard)
Most adult Perceivers are at Level 2. With consistent training, it is possible to advance a Level 2 ability (or occasionally more than 1 ability) to level 3.

*Prophecy - Perceivers at Level 2 can answer questions asked them with consistent certainty, and can predict major future events, if only vaguely.
*Second Sight - Level 2 Perceivers can see and communicate with ghosts in a waking state, and can see hidden angels or demons in waking and speak to them in dreams.
*Truth Sense - Level 2 Perceivers with Truth Sense can tell with consistent certainty if a response to a question is true, and can sense half-truths with a fair amount of certainty. It is rare for a Perceiver to have three Level 2 abilities, but having one stronger sense or sometimes two is not unheard of.

Level 3 (High-Level)
A Level 3 ability is rare, and having 2 is even more unusual. Only a handful of Perceivers have had all three abilities at Level 3 over the millennia.

*Prophecy - A prophetic High-Level Perceiver can predict future events without the focusing aid of a question, and are able to answer questions with 100% accuracy.
*Second Sight - High-Level Perceivers with second sight can see and communicate with ghosts and hidden angels and demons on a conscious level.
*Truth Sense - A High-Level Perceiver with Truth Sense can sense a lie, whether it is a statement or an answer to a question.

Level 4
The only Perceiver known to reach Level 4 abilities is Drake the Powerful; all three of his Perceiver powers were at Level 4 once he reached his potential.

*Prophecy - Level 4 prophecy allows to answer any question about any time, past, present or future, with 100% certainty (given an entity does not affect the future with their actions; if the time stream is radically altered the prediction may prove a half-truth or entirely false).
*Second Sight - Level 4 second sight allows a Perceiver to see and talk to ghosts, hidden demons and angels, and use Truth Sense on the ethereal entities they communicate with. With great concentration and effort, a short audience with God is possible. In modern time Drake, long dead as a human but returned to Etrah as a fallen angel, has powerful enough Second Sight to compensate for his blindness which was caused by a battle with Pyrodeus' Forge that involved a fireball as bright as a red sun.
*Truth Sense - Level 4 Truth Sense allows the Perceiver to sense the truth of statements with 100% accuracy, including knowing what parts of a half-truth are true and which parts are false. A combination of Level 4 Truth Sense and second sight allows the Perceiver to see the souls of individuals at will, sensing by colors and feelings sensed the intentions of the individual.

Admin: /* Weapons, Powers and Abilities */

He had also invented his own martial art, which he called Drengoba. He met his love, an Etrahn girl named Diana, and her brother, Drake the Powerful (the same name as Visignis' great grandfather).

*Clash of the Nephilim: Approximately five thousand years after this, Visignis would be captured by Dr.

----
Spoilers end here.
----

Weapons, Powers and Abilities
Visignis carries the crimson scimitar originally wielded by Tamina which Pyrodeus forged long ago. He also wears a crimson metal bracer on his right forearm, which bears the same seal a the scimitar. This artifact allows him to use the sword effortlessly, while preventing almost all others from doing so at all. The bracer doubles as a shield, impervious to most attacks. Eight millennia of wear and tear have done no damage to the sword or the bracer.

He had also invented his own martial art, which he called Drengoba. He met his love, an Etrahn girl named Diana, and her brother, Drake the Powerful (the same name as Visignis' great grandfather).

*Clash of the Nephilim: Approximately five thousand years after this, Visignis would be captured by Dr.

----
Spoilers end here.
----

Weapons, Powers and Abilities
Visignis carries the crimson scimitar originally wielded by Tamina which Pyrodeus forged long ago. Eight millennia of wear and tear have done no damage to the sword.

To date, he has done so once, multiplying his abilities of fire anywhere from three- to fivefold. He is also a skilled blacksmith, gunsmith, and mechanic. He has the human ability to create energy from emotion, a deadly ability when coupled with his fire manipulation.

Admin: /* Nephilim */

Half-Angels are any being who, whether through magical interference or mixed parenting, has partial angelic blood but is not fully angelic. Half-Angels are capable of a myriad of abilities, many of which are determined by the blood they share with another race. Angelic blood grants its users access to Heaven and, when at very great levels of strength, retractable angelic wings. If the half-angel has not already found a method of flight, the wings will grant them angelic flight.
Nephilim
It is also noteworthy that most half-angels, called nephilim, bare little resemblance to their human or angelic parents. With the exception of a very few, nephilim are prone to a handful of characteristics:
*The Nephilim Curse: Most nephilim are born with physical abnormalities not shared by angels of humans, such as horns, fangs, or disproportionately sized limbs such as very large arms. This is cause by the will of God, who forbids angels from leaving Heaven, let alone fornicating with humans. As punishment, their children almost invariably bear the Nephilim Curse. The curse will pass over the child of an angel with leave to set foot on Etrah, as was the case with Visignis (since Pyrodeus had entered Etrah to fight the Sons of Plunder when he had met Visignis' mother, Tamina).
*The Rule of Blood: Nephilim, like their angelic parents, stop aging physically by their mid-twenties. Nephilim physically younger than that, if they murder a human and make contact with its blood, will physically age by anywhere from 2 to as much as 5 years. Once fully realized (as physically matured as they will become within their lifetime), the Rule of Blood will still give a nephilim greater power.
*Violent Disposition: All nephilim who bare the Nephilim Curse are violent and aggressive at birth to the point of murderous tendencies, and quick to anger. While often inherent and unlikely to change, some nephilim with potentially peaceful dispositions are shunned for their physical abnormalities. This quickly sours their disposition, sometimes permanently. As a result of their rage, many nephilim damn themselves in spite of their angelic blood.(Note: While the vast majority of nephilim are quite bloodthirsty, a nephilim raised in a proper environment can become virtuous and friendly, in spite of still carrying the physical abnormalities.)
*Angelic power: All nephilim are capable of power nearing angelic-level. Nephilim will often be stronger than their parents who bore them, but their potential strength is shaped by the genetics of their parents. For example, an average angel and an average human who have a child will give birth to a nephilim with power much greater than its parents. However, in the case of Visignis, with a Warrior Angel for a father and a woman from a long line of warriors as a mother, will have power far greater than most other nephilim and even a great number of pure angels.

----
When Tamina and Pyrodeus copulated between attacks from the Sons of Plunder, they conceived a child.

Three thousand years later, Visignis has become a billionaire using compound interest over a lifetime unbound by old age. He had also invented his own martial art, which he called Drengoba. He met his love, an Etrahn girl named Diana, and her brother, Drake the Powerful (the same name as Visignis' great grandfather).

Approximately five thousand years after this, Visignis would be captured by Dr.

Tresdos

Admin:

Tresdos is a Rogue Angel with the power of Nocticertus, the Angel of Darkness. In life he was a Ferdan assassin during the creation of the Warrior Angels.

History
In life, Tresdos was a ruthless and sadistic assassin. He operated in and around the ancient city of Ferdas, where he came in contact with Heinous, the leader of the nomadic barbarians known as the Locust Tribe. Tresdos was hired to kill Visignis, but was fought to a stalemate effortlessly by the half-angel. Visignis passed out shortly after due to exhaustion from an extreme display of fiery magic. Tresdos' instincts told him that Visignis could have killed him with minimal effort, and simply chose not to. The assassin consequently returned Heinous' money with a note saying he had changed his mind about the job and not to follow him; Tresdos was more than capable of killing the Assassins permanently in Heinous' employ. Shortly after, Tresdos lead one of three groups of Ferdan Elites against a Locust fort. The elites were able to kill 1,000 Locusts without a single casualty. During the Locusts' last stand at Ferdas, Tresdos continued to aid the Ferdan army by viciously slaughtering countless Locusts. Tresdos maintains that following his instincts keeps him alive; his instincts stopped him from killing an unconscious Visignis, and they led him out of Ferdas while Visignis' fire rain destroyed the city, and led him back shortly after. For the remainder of Tresdos' natural life, he and Visignis were close friends. Upon his death, Tresdos was granted access to Heaven thanks to intervention on the part of Cryodivus, who had kept a close eye on Visignis and those around him in Pyrodeus' stead.

When Heaven broke, Tresdos was one of thousands of angels who fell. With his free will restored, Tresdos harbored a deep resentment of God for smothering his ability to follow his instincts. Azrael created the ninth, and presumably last, of the Warrior Angels shortly afterward the angels had fallen. However, Tresdos was able to steal the black seal of Nocticertus before the angel was fully created. Wearing the seal gave Tresdos a fraction of the power, enough for him to consume it. Azrael was unable to stop the energy transfer, and all of Nocticertus' power was transferred into Tresdos.

Tresdos has recently completed Magres Xerfal, giving him power on par with Pyrodeus and Cryodivus. Upon completion of the rite, he rewarded Messanger for his services in helping with the rite by imbuing his cloak with the ability to teleport, as well as a chalice of his own blood. This increased Messanger's power considerably.

Weapons, Powers and Abilities
Tresdos has nearly limitless powers of dark manipulation. He can fire bursts of what he calls Inverse Energy, a black energy blast that absorbs light instead of emanating it. Tresdos can use Inverse Energy to snuff light, and has abilities of stealth rivaled only by Gisichros. Like all Warrior Angels, he can teleport using his elemental inclination.

Tresdos has incredible agility; as a human his speed and agility were matched only by Visignis, and upon receiving the power of a Warrior Angel his natural abilities were coupled with those of a Warrior Angel. Tresdos is able to diffuse his existence into the darkness surrounding Etrah at will, allowing him to observe several areas at once. When he does this, he is incapable of attack until reverting to his corporeal form; however he also can only be killed if all of the darkness around Etrah is purged (an impossible feat for anyone but God and, when using all of his power, possibly Pyrodeus).

Tresdos carries twin hookswords, infused with Inverse Energy allowing Tresdos to make them appear and disappear at will. He is skilled with the weapons; in life he was capable of inflicting immense pain and irreparable physical harm to humans with his weapons. With his new power, he is theoretically able to flay and dismember far greater entities as well.
Pyrodeus' Forge

Admin:

Pyrodeus' Forge is a forge and fortress built into the side of a volcanic mountain in the Mountains of Secrecy, one of two mountain ranges on Etrah. Pyrodeus uses the heat from the lava to keep his forge energized, allowing him to create weapons of exceptional quality in a fairly short amount of time.
----
Pyrodeus built his forge over 8,000 years ago, with the help of the Warrior Angels. The walls are self-repairing, and the doors can magically seal shut at his will, making the forge nearly impenetrable. This makes the forge an ideal hideout for Pyrodeus or anyone he chooses to bring inside with him. Cryodivus has proven that he is also able to open or seal the forge at will, and postulated that any living Warrior Angel would also be able to open or close the forge at their discretion. (This assumption is presumably correct, as Visignis has also opened and sealed the Forge, albeit after noticeable concentration.)

There is a large living area where the doors lead, the walls covered with different weapons Pyrodeus has forged. It is sparsely furnished, with large amounts of food stores. Combined with an enchanted slack tub which fills with water whenever it is emptied, visitors to the forge can survive for as long as 6 months (Pyrodeus himself does not need to eat in the forge; the lava flowing through his forge gives him unlimited energy and alleviates his need for nutrition.)

Silexops is the Angel of Stone. One of the eight Warrior Angels, Silexops has been dead for several millennia; however, his seal and weapon remain, allowing for a possible resurrection or reincarnation.

History
Warning: Spoilers below.
----
Approximately 8 millennia ago, the Archangels were charged with creating new Guardians of the Gate, able to battle at full strength regardless of distance from the gates of Heaven. Four of the five archangels (the exception being Azrael) created their own Warrior Angels in accordance with their elemental inclination. Gabriel created Hydrodurus (Angel of Water), Michael created Pyrodeus (Angel of Fire), Raphael created Gisichros (Angel of Earth), and Uriel created Ventusamplus, the Angel of Wind. This would even the balance of power from a strong advantage for Hell to a level playing field. However, God desired the balance to be tipped in Heaven's favor. He created four additional Warrior Angels of his own volition: Cryodivus (Angel of Ice), Fulminerus (Angel of Lightning), Silexops (Angel of Stone), and Aurumagnus (Angel of Gold). Silexops took his own life in the battle with the Sons of Plunder, destroying Iterophasmos (who had possessed his body) in the process.
----
Spoilers end here.
----

Weapons, Powers and Abilities
Silexops has nearly limitless abilities of stone manipulation. He has near-angelic level reflexes, endurance of pain and temperature well beyond angelic-level, and cosmic-level strength.

He is able to use his abilities of stone manipulation to change the size and composition of his body, the most notable example being increasing his hands to several times their original size - allowing him to wrap them around an enemy and crush them to death.

Silexops wields a 3,000-pound hammer, which he is able to wield as if it were a toy. He is able to throw it astonishing distances with pinpoint accuracy, destroying most everything in its path.

He is able to summon thunderclouds at will, and the lightning bolts therein. He can send a bolt of lightning directly at an enemy, or absorb it himself. He is also able to pour his energy into an ally, recharging them at the expense of his own power.

Fulminerus has a golden bow, which he can collapse into a 6-inch piece of metal. When extended, Fulminerus supplies both string and an endless supply of arrows by forming them out of electricity. Cryodivus was one of only two Warrior Angels to survive the battle between the Warrior Angels and Sons of Plunder, the other being Pyrodeus.

Cryodivus successfully completed Magres Xerfal not long after his creation, ascending him to the level of a demigod. His abilities were increased exponentially, and while he can be defeated in battle he can only be truly killed through a unique attack, unknown to all but him (rendering him effectively indestructible). Soon after doing this he disappeared, only impacting events passively, until Pyrodeus' attempt at ascension, during which he was attacked by Rogue Angels. Cryodivus froze an attacking angel solid, destroyed him, and trapped the others in a ball of ice - which he compacted to the approximate size of a baseball, crushing them. He then surrounded the Sacred Altar of Divine Power in an ice dome, protecting Pyrodeus and Mathew until the ritual ended.
----
Weapons, Powers and Abilities
Cryodivus has nearly limitless abilities of ice manipulation. He has angelic level physical strength, endurance, and reflexes which he can increase to undefined levels when tapping into his true power, causing his body to freeze solid, changing to pure ice, until he chooses to return to normal, exhausts himself, or is knocked unconscious. He is able to generate shields, weapons, and armor of ice for himself or those fighting with him.

He is also able to throw and manipulate cold energy, freezing or lowering the temperature of things around him at will. Cryodivus is immune to extreme cold, and is even able to move and function at Absolute Zero or lower the temperature of objects and enemies to Absolute Zero.

Cryodivus has all manner of weapons available to him formed of ice at his behest, but he almost exclusively fights with a sword forged for him long ago by Pyrodeus. The sword can be summoned or disappear at Cryodivus' will, accompanied by an ice spike each time it appears, which explodes to reveal the weapon. When it disappears, it sometimes explodes into icy shrapnel or simply melts or evaporates.
Gisichros has nearly limitless abilities of organic generation, creating and manipulating plant life at will. He can also summon all manner of animals to aid his cause.

He relies heavily on his formidable powers of stealth in hand-to-hand combat. He is able to fly and walk, even through water or other terrain usually noisy, with perfect and absolute silence. In addition, he is able to turn perfectly invisible (though beings strongly attuned to the spiritual can still see Gisichros' soul after he turns invisible).

Gisichros wields a pair of nunchukas, which he can transform into bolas at will. He is able to create weapons out of water, and absorb and throw the weapons of his enemies that strike his body or shield.
He is a powerful defensive force. A shield of water is permanently affixed to his right arm, his seal in the middle of it. The shield can grow to any size without losing strength.

He also carries a powerful buster cannon in his chest; at will, he can replace his left forearm with it. It fires a ball of water, held together by a thin shell of ice due to Cryodivus' magic, and given remarkable accuracy by Ventusamplus' powers over wind. The blast takes several seconds to charge, but the effect compensates for the slow rate of fire; upon impact, the blast traps the victim in a chunk of ice, and draws almost all hydration from their body, leaving them severely weakened in the process.
Hydrodurus has nearly limitless abilities of water manipulation. He can create fresh water (he can also create salt water, but in smaller quantities unless aided by Silexops).

Aurumagnus is the Angel of Gold, and the leader of the Warrior Angels. One of the eight Warrior Angels, Aurumagnus has been dead for several millennia; however, his seal and weapon remain, allowing for a possible resurrection or reincarnation.
Aurumagnus was killed by a fatal transfer of divine energy during a failed attempt at Magres Xerfal.
Aurumagnus has limited abilities of gold manipulation. He is able to create small amounts of pure gold and manipulate any metallic alloy with even trace amounts of gold at will. He can also turn part or all of his body into gold; when his body is entirely golden, Aurumagnus has endurance of pain and temperature well beyond angelic-level and cosmic-level strength.

He relies primarily on tactics and strategy, which allow him to defeat far stronger enemies. Aurumagnus is able to use his intelligence and cleverness to disorient enemies, pacify them, or even cause them to mistakenly attack each other.

Aurumagnus has a pair of golden knives, balanced for throwing. He wears sheathes at his hips which the knives return to at his will. He is theoretically able to create swords, guns, or other weapons out of these knives thanks to his abilities of gold manipulation; however, there have been no examples to date of his doing so.
