:::As I said in the edit summary, "Sorry. I'm fine with random characters becoming zombies - any kind of randomness is fine - but please keep complete non sequitur to a minimum." In other words, it's fine if John becomes a zombie, but at least let the reader know who John is in the first place, and give some sort of reason, no matter how lame (even just sudden headache and fainting are possible), why John turned into a zombie.
