What is a Wiki?

"A wiki (IPA: [ˈwɪ.kiː] <WICK-ee> or [ˈwiː.kiː] <WEE-kee>[1]) is a type of website that allows the visitors themselves to easily add, remove and otherwise edit and change some available content, sometimes without the need for registration. This ease of interaction and operation makes a wiki an effective tool for collaborative authoring." – from Wikipedia, 17th August 2006

What is Abnormalia?

Abnormalia is a wiki meant for those who have little bits of world inside their heads. Allow me to explain.

During the years I've spent interacting with people on the internet and especially on forums, I've met a lot of imaginative, creative people with vivid imaginations. I've met a high school student from Prague who invented a race of people and wrote their whole history, biographies of important members of that race and hundreds of pages about their culture and religion. I remember meeting a girl, I believe she was from Norway, who had a gift for drawing maps. She created all kinds of towns, provinces, continents, you name it, and drew the most beautiful maps I've ever seen. I've met people who created entire languages from scratch, religions so rich in mythology and deep in phylosophy it would put many of the world religions to shame.

And it got me thinking. Wouldn't it be great if someone were to take all those little tidbits of information, collect them somehow to make the ultimate imagination resource? Wouldn't it be fun to have a place to actually work with those little ideas and see wht other people come up with?

That's Abnormalia. If you have invented a new game, or a fantasy race, or a even a whole religion, this is the place to share it. Abnormalia is meant to be "an effective tool for collaborative authoring". I hope you enjoy it.
