Flare is a dragonfly robot built by Kienstrom and is one of his two robots. He is somewhat based off of Scratch, being that he is smarter than Chopper and other such things. He can hover for a short distance, but isn't very powerful. Kienstrom generally mistreats Flare and Chopper, but apparently needs them (even if he won't admit it).

Top Story Bio
One of Kienstrom's 2 main robots. He and Chopper aren't all that great at carrying out orders and stuff. He, unlike Chopper, is smarter and more agile. And spiky.
History
Creation
The actual date of Flare's building is unknown, but soon after (by several seconds), Chopper was also built. It was in Kienstrom's lab at Bubblegloop Swamp, and Kienstrom's first orders for them were for them to kidnap some Jinjos for him. At first they refused, but after Kienstrom told them he would scrap them and make new robots, they agreed. They went to Jinjo Village and hid out in the digger tunnel until several jinjos came in, at which point they attacked, but were blown up by a crate of explosives. The next day, they tried again, and were successful in kidnapping two jinjos.
They brought the jinjos to Kienstrom's lab, where Flare and Chopper were given a promotion (even though they were already the highest-ranked robot there, even though there were no other robots there), but then encountered Gonji, Croco and Bien in the entrance to the lab. They fought, and were defeated, but the three intruders were captured by Kienstrom. Flare and Chopper helped Kienstrom bring Gonji to the mutator room for experiments when the lab was attacked by a giant crocodile robot. The lab was nearly destroyed, and Kienstrom, Flare and Chopper fleed in Kienstrom's ship, leaving the planet.

- Flare is partly based on both Scratch from The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, and also on a dragonfly robot from Mushroom Hill Zone in Sonic & Knuckles.
