Whirl is a scientist from Mobius. He's a rabbit who can fly through the air by spinning his ears like a helicopter blade. One of his best friends is Glerk, a gecko cyborg, and Whirl once built a robot of the Chaos creature named Metal Chaos. He's also friends with Evelyn, a girl rabbit, and although he denies any full relationship between them, Evelyn insists the opposite. He also has a rival and enemy in the form of Slike F. Elion. His first appearance was in the RP Hachacha, although that appearance is no longer considered canon, and his first canon appearance was in The Yoshi Bodyguards.

Top Story Bio
Whirl is one of my most intellegent characters. He’s a Rabbit from Mobius with yellow eyes, and is a scientist--he has made some robots, his best two being Metal Shadow and Metal Chaos. He’s also done some things with chemicals, including a love potion (although by now he’s regretted making it after a certain white Kirby named CHIBI got it… in the RP Chat Thread, that is). He can also spin his ears like a helicopter blade to fly around. Cream the Rabbit is his cousin. He was with the YB for a short time, but is now back at Mobius. Slike, a black cat, is his rival/arch-enemy type guy. Whirl has often foiled Slike's plans for world domination. Wait, I didn't mention Slike wants to take over the world? Well this is about Whirl, not Slike! Also there’s a female rabbit named Evelyn who keeps following him because she loves him since he rescued her during the first time he fought Slike.
History
First Fight
Most of Whirl's early life was not very exciting. He had built a lab and did some inventing things, but nothing very big. He never really wanted to go on adventures and fight villains like Sonic the Hedgehog, but one day he found himself plummeted into that very situation when he found a Chaos Emerald underneath a café table. Soon after, he and a few others he had never even met before entered a large battleship where Whirl first met Slike. After battling him, Whirl and the others went around collecting the other emeralds. When they had all but the ones Slike already had, however, Slike stole theirs and revealed to have a hostage: Evelyn. Thus, they chased after Slike once more into his new battleship, inside of which Slike and Whirl battled. Their battle was interrupted when the ship's main core was destroyed, and the group escaped. Although Whirl hadn't realized it yet, that journey gave him both an enemy and a lover.
Meeting The Yoshi Bodyguards
Time passed, and over the next year Whirl built a robot of the Chaos creature that he called Metal Chaos. He also found a near-dead gecko named Glerk; he ended up saving Glerk by making him a cyborg, although Glerk's memory prior to meeting Whirl was gone. Whirl then began working on a new invention to create portals. One portal he created ended up sending him to Star World, where he met the Yoshi Bodyguards. He ended up becoming allies with them and staying with them for a short time, but then he eventually returned to Mobius. Over the next year, he continued testing his Portal Producer, meeting up with a few of the YBs (including Top, Oshy, and Danny) at Rareworld during the Dark Ages. He also helped Pyro out a little when he was searchin for the Gemerald Stars, one of which was at Mobius, and Slike had apparently gotten it. Nothing much happened there, however.
The next year-and-a-half would be fairly uneventful, with the exception of Evelyn finally finding him once more. It was then that Whirl realized that she loved him, which he would find fairly annoying over the next couple years. In Fall of 2007, he recieved a message from Top, Oshy and Topper, telling him to be on the lookout for Cackletta, Fawful and Gruntilda Winkybunion. And wouldn't you know it, they showed up soon after! Thus, Whirl called them over to Mobius, as they learned they were trying to steal the Master Emerald. Unfortunately, they succeeded when Slike revealed to be working with them as well. Soon, it appeared that many more villains were helping them, and the entirety of Star World was brought under their control. Whirl and the others were able to escape, but they found that the villains were still stealing other powerful items. Thus, Whirl went with some others to stop them from taking the Ripple Crystal on Ripple Star, which they succeeded in doing. They then went back to Star World to attempt to save it from the villains. Although Slike defeated them, a stroke of luck saved them from becoming enslaved, and then they were saved by a strange yellow thing named Parnky. The villains were defeated, although Whirl had very little to do with that, and everything was back to normal. Uh, more or less.
The X-Nauts
Earlier, the Chaos Emeralds had been scattered across Star World; when the X-Nauts began trying to collect them, Dr. Eggman headed for Star World to try and get them hisself. Whirl caught on to this and went after him, which unfortunately caught the attention of Slike, who ended up following him. In the end, a fight broke out between the ships of the X-Nauts, Eggman and Slike; in the end, Whirl was able to use a portal beam to scatter the emeralds across the universe.
Eventually, Whirl found the location of one emerald, which was on Alinos, in the Alimbic system. Apparently, the Metal Army had it and had covered up its energy signature, but Whirl had been able to find it by boardening his search system. Because of this, however, the Federation wanted him to be moved to Station Square so the Metal Army couldn't get to him. Unfortunately, the X-Nauts got to his lab and kidnapped Evelyn, so they had to make a deal. The X-Nauts broke the deal, however, and were about to take Whirl prisoner when suddenly Coshi came out of nowhere along with some Clone Troopers and saved him and Evelyn in the nick of time.
The X-Nauts tried again, only this time a force of Metal Army ships appeared, disrupting the X-Nauts' plans. Whirl, Evelyn, Coshi and the others were able to escape to Star World until things were finally safe again. Whirl, Evelyn, Glerk and Metal Chaos returned to Mobius, but things wouldn't stay safe for long...
Mobius Chaos
A couple months later, Slike contacted Whirl. Apparently, a robot of Top had stolen the Master Emerald. Whirl recalled seeing it before: It was called Metal Top. He wasn't too fond of working with Slike, so he contacted Top, Oshy and Topper, now calling themselves Team TOT, and they along with some others came to help. They snuck into one of the three ships Metal Top had, but that ship ended up falling to the ground and being destroyed. Soon after, Glerk and Metal Chaos appeared to help out, but so did Evelyn, much to Whirl's dismay. They went into the second ship, battling against some strange and evil creatures, but were sent flying out of the ship. They then encountered two SWDF soldiers, Frob and Bread, and then they ran into Hey You the Dodo, who helped them into the final ship. They battled against Metal Top, defeating it, but Metal Top then sent them flying out of the ship along with the Master Emerald. Once they had regrouped, they found the Master Emerald to be in a Secret Military Organization ran by General Distinct. They were about to fight when Slike appeared, attempting to steal the emerald, but the battle ended with Slike being defeated and escaping; they then returned the Master Emerald to Angel Island.
Discrepancies
Hachacha
Originally, Whirl made an appearance in Hachacha as Topper's Sonic form. Chibi would hate me if I went into the other Sonic forms. Therefore, let's just leave it at that.
Metal Shadow
Originally, Whirl had built a robot of Shadow, which he had done after it was thought the original Shadow had died. Then Topmonhit started disliking Shadow so he got rid of it and replaced it with Glerk.
Personal Information
Personality
Whirl is a scientist, inventor, professor, or whatever term you want to use for him. He's one of the most brilliant minds on Mobius (that isn't also evil). His impressive lab and scientific inventions and other things can easily show this.
He's nice and easy to get along with, although he really doesn't like to be insulted in any way. He's fairly serious, but sometimes relaxes, and wishes he could get away from having to do hero things a lot. While he is certainly not cowardly, he often gets exasperated over what he has to go through.
Despite this, he is very dedicated to the stopping of evil. Either that, or he uses it as an excuse to stay away from Evelyn; oftentimes when she tries to get him to go on a date, he says that he is busy with this or that and unable to.
Most of his fighting involves using weapons, as he's not a very good hand-to-hand fighter. Most of his battling is from far away, in fact, although he isn't seen to fight inside mechs very often for some reason.
Abilities
Whirl can spin his ears like a helicopter blade and use that to fly through the air. Other than that, he can use his gifted intelligence to help out.
Final Smash: Super Chaos Gun
Whirl pulls out his Chaos Gun, which, powered with all the Chaos Emeralds, can either shoot giant blasts of energy or transform into a small vehicle which can slam foes or shoot beams.
Family
Whirl's parents have never been mentioned, nor is it known whether he has any siblings, although it's assumed that he doesn't.
Cream the Rabbit
Cream the Rabbit is Whirl's cousin, which makes Vanilla his aunt. However, he generally avoids Cream, as her over-thet-top politeness is too much for anyone to handle. It's strangely interesting to note that technically Cream went on a couple adventures before Whirl ever did, and yet she's over 10 years younger than Whirl.
Items
Portal Producer
Whirl built the Portal Producer soon after first meeting Glerk. The PP has the ability to create a portal leading to almost anywhere. Topmonhit has just realized thst sounds like that one game, Portal, only because he came up with this before the game even existed, he wins. Whirl has been working on giving it the ability to traverse dimensions, but he's been running into some trouble with it.
Chaos Gun
The Chaos Gun is a weapon shaped like a Super Scope only with a blue tint. It can shoot beams of Chaos energy from it, which matches actual chaos energy almost perfectly. It's powered by a fake Chaos Emerald Whirl created long ago.
Grenades
Whirl has also developed a Chaos grenade, which explodes with a blast of Chaos energy much more destructively than the Chaos gun, but it requires good strength to throw it. He also has a paralyzing grenade that shocks a foe and immobilizes them.
Whirl's Lab
Whirl's lab exists on the outskirts of the Mystic Jungle, right between it and Station Square. It is where Whirl keeps all his inventions, research, and chemicals he works with. Unfortunately, it seems to be broken in too often, and he's been considering relocating. The only problem is, he doesn't know where he should relocate to.
Interactions with other Characters
Oshy
- Main Article: Oshy Gisho
Whirl and Oshy have a good deal of respect for each other, and it would seem that Oshy has a respect for Whirl's ability to invent things. Whirl thinks Oshy is a bit overzealous with his morality issues, but does respect him for it.
Croco
While in the canon version, Whirl hardly knows Croco (if at all), in Hachacha, they were often seen together, workin on plans together for whatever reason.
Kioles
While Whirl hasn't seen Kioles very often, from what he has seen of him, he isn't fond of how wild Kioles is. He's fine with most wild Chao, but he thinks Kioles as being too aggressive, not at all like how a Chao should be. He knows not to get in his way, though, as he has a rather large amount of strength.
Slike
Whirl has a large dislike for Slike, not trusting him in any way and often having to fight against him. However, he would much rather not have to fight him, and would much rather prefer to have just a quiet life; Slike's evil intentions always send him back into the frying pan, though.
Glerk
Whirl and Glerk are most likely best friends. When Whirl first found Glerk, Glerk was on the brink of death. He was able to save him by making him into a cyborg, and the two of them have been good friends ever since. Whirl has also tried to help Glerk remember his past, but they have had no luck so far.
Metal Chaos
Metal Chaos is Whirl's first and main robot he built, a robot based on the Chaos creature. His reasoning for not making Metal Chaos capable of speech is nonexistant, as he has no reason he did so. However, he knows that Metal Chaos will always be there to help him, and has relied on it through thick and thin.
Evelyn
At first glance, it would appear that Whirl is annoyed by Evelyn and is trying to push her away. However, it is simply that he is worried for her and doesn't want her to get hurt. At first, he did not realize that Evelyn had fallen in love with him, but as time passed, it became too obvious to ignore. Every time Evelyn tries to get him to go on a date with him, though, he says that he is too busy to. Evelyn continues to try, though, which is what annoys Whirl, as he repeats himself each time. He's gotten into a habit of saying she isn't his girlfriend, but whether this is how he feels or it's to make them seem less connected to those who might try to hurt them is unknown.
Hey You
Overall, Whirl is confused by Hey You.
Chibi

While in the canon, they haven't been seen together very much, in The RP Chat Thread of Game & Watch, Chibi often stole the love potion he had created. Due to this, Whirl became exasperatingly annoyed at Chibi constantly, and gained a fair annoyance to her.
Coshi
- Main Article: Coshi
While Whirl has no dislike of Coshi, he's mainly only indifferent to him. While he's beyond thankful to him for saving him and Evelyn from the X-Nauts, he does get miffed at Coshi's attitude at times.
Sneezier
- Main Article: Sneezier
Once, while complaining to Koop, Sneezier mentioned Whirl as the one with the portal technologies, and said that Koop was useless. Or something like that. Either way, Whirl was gone from the YB long before then. He respects Sneezier as a scientist, although he thinks some of this inventions and other things are a bit unorthodox and sometimes unreasonable.
Trivia
- Whirl is one of the few characters Topmonhit has that is related to a video game character. It's possible he's the only character with this.
