Coshi is one of the longtime Yoshi Bodyguards members and the one who will watch over YB's merge with the SWDF. He is known to weild a Gunblade. He came from Bugoto Island, home of many Yoshi warriors and a SWDF Academy. He recently became a father to a baby daughter named Sera. He is married to Plasshi and their relationship is extremely healthy.

History

Raised in Bugoto

Coshi is born and raised as a warrior. His mother, Vera Bugoto, who's in charge of a SWDF academy in Bugoto Island took him to train him as soldier mainly due to Bugoto Yoshi tradition. During his academy days, he preferred the arts of Gunblade fight, a difficult weapon fighting style only a few can perform which causes him a few problems for 3 year until he mastered it. At the age of 17, he quit and escaped from the island due to it's tight organization's strict regulations. He then changed his name from Rau to Coshi since he disgraced his island warrior tradition.

Drifter

As Coshi, he traveled all over the world wanting to see everything on Star World. He first met Frankly and the Prof. himself took him to the University of Goom, mainly to assist him and see more places and to earn some skills of being an explorer. They become friends but Coshi would later drop out due to hard classes. In New Year Eve 2004, he is reunited with Frankly along with a former classmate, Goombella. He helped Blundit find the Water Orb and fought the mysterious Boss Bandit. After, he continued to explore the world.

Joining the YB

Shortly after the Bomsphere Crisis, Coshi traveled to Dinosaur Land and to the YB HQ. He joined at almost the same time as Oshy. Two opposites yet same. He is known to be reckless in battles which sometime put his teammates in danger but still a realiable ally.

Personal Information

Personality

Before he met Plasshi, he shows a cold and uncaring personality except for his friends due to his warrior-like nature. He tend to be rebellious and seeking adventure. When Plasshi met Coshi for the first time, his cold heart warm up for the beautiful alien yoshi. He is now a caring person who is devoted to protect the innocent from harm, especialy his wife and daughter. He sometimes support couples to be happily married like him as shown in Grodus Rising. Yet, he can be hot-blooded in battle to fuel his fighting skills.

Abilities

Like any Yoshi, Coshi has all the normal Yoshi abilities, from the long tongue, turning things into eggs, flutter kicking, ground pounding, strong legs, and so on. His real ability is using an unique weapon called a Gunblade which are difficult to handle and master. His Gunblade fighting style is called "Dreshyu", which means "Lightning Fencing" in Bugoto, a special sword combat that specializes fencing, offensive manuvers, and speed. Dreshyu came about as a means of dueling combat. It was described as being very elegant, powerful, and requiring extreme precision, allowing the user to attack and defend with minimal effort, while his opponents tired themselves out. He often wielded the blade one-handed for greater range of movement and fluidity. He weapon handling is almost lightning fast that his strikes and slashes are aggresive and hard to track. It relied on parries, thrusts, and small, precise cuts—as opposed to the blocking and slashing of the other forms. The only downside is that it was somewhat harder to deflect ranged shots with this style but Coshi overcome this by training himself in the YB HQ's simulation room. He also shoot powerful beams from the Gunblade to take out foes short to long range.

Not only he can use most weaponry easily, he can do swift and powerful kicks which combined with his Gunblade made him a formidable fighter.

Final Smash: Gunblade Storm

His is when he spins in the air at high speed and lets the air form a tornado. He then summon multiple Gunblades from above as they cut, slash, slice, dice, and chop everything except his allies. All foes will have multiple cut wounds to damage them lethally.

Family

Coshi came from a long line of Bugoto Yoshi Warriors, each an admin of the SWDF starting in the 1950s. His mother is a hot-headed green Yoshi named Vera Bugoto but no mention of his father. He's an only child so he has no siblings. After the marriage with Plasshi, he now has in-low relatives who were aliens which is akward to him at first but got over it recently.

"Griffinsoul" Gunblade

Originally the Lionheart Gunblade. It was a Bugoto Family heirloom passed down from many generations. During his sneaking out of the Academy, he "borrowed" it for a very, very long time (AKA keeping as his own). It was reforged in the "Station of Mind" which is a dream location, open up a can of worm of how did it upgraded to it's current form. The weapon itself is built be like an assualt rifle which comes with a zoom-in scope and infra-red targeting laser. It used to fire powerful energy shots shaped like lions but it's upgraded form have energy griffins instead. Each shot are power as chaos spears, able to penetrate tank and mech armor as well it works on people.

Over the years, he seems to collect multiple types and models of alot of Gunblades he brought and found all over Star World. Most of them are in his private closet, encased in shatterproof glass cases. He has only a few brought along with him, mass production models for his allies can borrow for special team attack such as Buzzsaw Blitz.

Jet Shoes

Special prototype shoes that allows Coshi to reach high-speeds, rivalling the turbo trains. Not only it provides speed, it can also glide over most surfaces such as ground, water, lava, and even spike pits. He can sometimes use the jets to set things on fire or to perform a flaming kick.

Residence

His home is located at New Yoshitropolis, specifically a villa on top of a tall apartment with a swimming pool and everything.

Appearance

A Yellow Yoshi with average looking yet powerful build. His left side of his nose has a "t" shaped scar from his encounter with Torro which is now encased with a metal T plate. He has a black saddle and speed-enhancing white, black, red and yellow air shoes installed with five jets that enable Coshi to hoverskate like Shadow.

• Coshi's Current home is a shout out to the married hippo couple in Animaniacs.
