Characteristics
Phase-I Armorsuit
Influenced by Mack and designed by Sneezier himself, the basic armor of the first design became composed of twenty form-fitting plates of lightweight plastoid-alloy composite, sealed to a black bodysuit and weighed just under 70 pounds. Because the armor would be used by an army of physically identical yoshi clones, only one size was needed. It loosely resembled Galactic Federation Armorsuits in the 19th century. The austere sensibilities of 26th Popstar society and Yoth's cultural design resulted in the blindingly pristine white state of each set of armor, although command units originally had stripes of different colors, depending on their rank (gold meaning commander, red meaning captain, blue meaning lieutenant, and green meaning sergeant).
The armor was heavy, uncomfortable, and not very well liked by clone troopers; it was also not very resilient against concentrated fire; hence it being often referred to by most people as a "body bucket" or "body coffin". Its inconvenience was due to the Sneezier's knowledge, or lack thereof, of Yoshi anatomy. It did, however, have coolant systems to prevent overheating and to vent out excessive body heat and sweat, and also included enhanced breathing filters inside the helmet. The armor could take some modular attachments, like a backpack. The armorsuit also resisted vacuum environments, allowing the trooper to continue to fight outside of spacecraft for a time (though recovery was needed).
Some armorsuits, depending on what planet the trooper was stationed, were customized to fit the planet's conditions. For example, water planets such as had water resistant armor with an aerodynamic design, and advanced breathing equipment, for underwater. Some trooper's armor had symbols to designate the squad that they were in.
As months passed, it was mainly replaced by Phase II armor. The the phase-I became obsolete in the Metal Wars and it was sold to various factions such as militas.
