Richards Motor Company was formed in 1955 by EJR Manufacturing. Work on the first car began in 1957. Their first car, the RMC Mark 1, was ready for production by 1960. The Mark 1 was a lower lever luxury car. However, RMC Motors decided to delay production due to market changes. It was announced in February that the RMC Charge will be mostly built in Korea in the existing So Car Plant. The parts will be sent to the United States. A new RMC Manufacturing Plant will be opened in the future where the Charge will be finished being built.
