-	Most batteries last at least 4 years with naomrl use. You should charge the battery as it has been standing and most cars have clocks and other gadgets that  use electricity so the battery will be down. I have a classic car that stands for up to 6 months and when that is started after a winter the battery will take about 100 miles to recharge, I am fortunate in that the car has a starting handle so can be started without the battery and self starter.	+
