Spambots are remote computers which register then post a large list of links on a randomly selected page. All the spambots we have currently identified so far have similar characteristics:
- Their username consists of 6 random characters
- The first and third characters of the name are capital letters
- The IP range comes from 206-208.x.x.x in most cases
- Although they target pages at random, many spambots only attack Talk Pages.
- The majority of Spambots only spam once.
