The DC Universe is a confusing place.
Prior to Crisis on Infinite Earths, there were like an infinite amount of Earths, each with different versions of heroes.
Eventually they all combined into one, killing trillions.
It's also the home of the "Big 7", DC's most popular heroes. (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman,Martian Manhunter, The Flash,Green Lantern,and uh, the guy who can talk to fish.
The Vertigo universe that's seen in Swamp Thing, Hellblazer, Sandman, and Lucifer is closely related to the DC Universe.
