John Byrne is a British-born comic book writer. He has written stories featuring several superheroes, including Superman. The two share a love of dickery, but while Superman mostly restricts his to Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane, Byrne has started fights with damn near everyone, including:

- Jim Shooter
- Joe Quesada
- Mark Evanier
- Marv Wolfman
- Erik Larsen
- Roy Thomas
- Grant Morrison
- Alan Moore
- Hispanics with blonde hair
- Black people
- People who use "speech bubble" instead of "balloon"
- Christopher Reeve
- ...oh, to hell with it, everyone.
Members of the superdickery forums have actively taken it upon themselves to wage war on the John Byrne forums, although have yet to realise or acknowledge it.
