Extremely popular Justice League title from the mid-80's-early-90's, written by Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis. Host to such excellent artists as Kevin Maguire and Adam Hughes. Created the spin-off title Justice League Europe.
JLI is known for its comedic value, despite having a few very good serious arcs and issues to its name. It set up the (in)famous duos of Booster Gold & the Blue Beetle and Fire & Ice.
A popular conspiracy theory among comic fans is that the JLI has been cursed (or at least hated) by recent editorial, as there was a brief period of time where JLI members were dropping like flies.
Had a sequel in the form of the Superbuddies minis, Formerly Known as the Justice League and I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League (the latter of which was actually an arc in Justice League Classified).
