'''Hobbies and Interests:''' Due to the high levels of bullying in school, Damien does not take part in any extracurricular activities. At home, Damien enjoys drawing in his "little book of horrors" or otherwise brushing up on the latest (controversial) literature. He also enjoys video games, and always manages to circumvent a housewide prohibition on anything above the ESRB "Everyone" rating. He also uses similar methods to access the TV late at night to watch his favorite TV show: ''Survival of the Fittest.'' 

'''Appearance:''' Despite being in the throes of an adolescent growth spurt making him nearly as tall as his classmates, Damien Carter-Madison is still quite gangly in appearance, making his uniform appear one size too big. He has gel-tamed jet black hair, which when let free would actually constitute a violation of school appearance regulations. This contrasts with his fair, eerily pale skin, and brown eyes. When he arrives at school his uniform is clean, pressed and free of unnecessary creases. His face is recognizably androgynous, and almost completely free of acne. Despite his outward appearance, he does not wear makeup as other kids with similar dispositions and related fashion senses do, and he and his mother often have to prove this embarrassingly to some wary school officials.

Across his body are the fading remains of several bruises and other relatively minor yet painful (more psychological) injuries, as a result of the bullying in his school. Most of these injuries are completely concealed by his full-body uniform, though sometimes a black eye or a little facial inflammation tends to linger visibly on his face for days as a reminder to his peers as to who they're messing with.

'''Biography:''' Damien was born on the West Coast. His father passed away shortly after his birth. Not long after that he was found to have a particularly gifted mind, with an IQ just surpassing 150. The report - which also included a childhood psychological evaluation - also found hints of potential mental illnesses, though those were rather glossed over and summarily covered up by his mother. He entered Kindergarten at preschool age (hence his age handicap) and academically blazed his way through elementary and junior high, before he moved to New Jersey to attend Gilroy Academy. He is particularly adept at math and the sciences and is, quite unintentionally, the darling of his teachers. He also has a closet interest in the graphic arts.

Logic therefore dictates that he is not a particularly happy little boy, and it shows.

From his first day in elementary School, Damien's academic abilities often shone bright enough to blind and earn the irritation and jealousy of his peers. What would start as nasty words would eventually develop into physical action. Any of his attempts to retaliate would often result in further repercussion. In reaction to this, his mother had him moved out of the West Coast to Jersey's Gilroy Academy, where she hoped the more laid-back and higher-achieving student community would treat his kind with more respect. Apparently, she was wrong.

Being picked on by guys and chicks (read, both of the spoiled rich-kids' club in Gilroy's instance, and [[Marvin Hendrick]]'s clique in particular) alike has become a nigh-daily occurance for him. He often slinks and zips around classmates between class, lunch break and club, getting caught by a particular mean clique more often than not and dragged away to where the faculty won't notice. His fear and lack of proper fight training (regardless of his body type) quickly negates his efforts to resist. By the time he leaves he looks visibly shaken, at the least. His uniform manages to conceal most of his bruises, and the ones on his face fade almost completely overnight.

The other obstacle in his life is his mother, Nicole Carter-Madison. Ever since her husband was killed - exactly how or why she doesn't say, though she categorically denies having a hand in it - she has made it her mission to make sure Damien never comes to harm at home or in school, at least on her watch (obviously, she never escorts him around classes). She is a card-carrying member of Gilroy's PTA and a known activist against bullying in all types of educational institutions. As described above, it's rather easy for Nicole to figure out if and when her son has been picked on. Yet her - and sometimes the faculty's - attempts to 'save' Damien from bullies have frequently led to even more violent reprisals against him, performed behind her back. That Damien has not yet suffered broken bones can be attributed to the fact that this would constitute a breach of school rules so severe that the aggressors' "connections" would actually fail in such a scenario.

This also leads most of the rest Damien's peers to keep their distance from him for fear of repercussions of their own; the rest have ended up befriending him for comparably short periods of time before learning this, resulting in a great deal of mistrust as well. By contrast, Nicole leaves him well enough alone because she believes her son won't try anything stupid/insane.

Naturally, going through this much would make Damien quite paranoid and wary of people around him. He keeps a scrapbook/drawing book full of morbid imagery - in the innocuous guise of a girl's diary - and other scary little sometimes-non-lethal mementos hidden in his clothes drawers, of the things he envisions he'd do to his oppressors, among other things. Even the members of the school's animé club say he actually resembles Wrath (from [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homunculi_of_the_Fullmetal_Alchemist_anime#Wrath FullMetal Alchemist]), before and after he's picked on.

But the way things look, Nicole is right in a sense. Damien even unconsciously tries to keep up a "sweet little boy" image for his mother when she's looking. Damien has therefore grown scared enough that he won't even try to harm ''himself'' out of despair. To be sure, this had been going on since before he moved to Gilroy, but the transfer only heaped upon his frustration that he might never get to exact revenge on everyone who picked on him.

'''Advantages:''' He has been hearing some voices in his head as of late. Psychotic, paranoid voices. But that's something he can shake off or shout off...for now. Speaking of his acute paranoia, he will trust next to nobody, and this works to his advantage as it can as a shield against most "sweet-talking" or other verbal deception expected from the craftier contestants. He should also be adroit at sneaking around undetected in places that would provide a lot more cover than a school hallway, and it's not likely that he'd be assigned a backpack or other bag larger than the one he carries around school, so that would help. Damien is also a rather big fan of the original SOTF, so that might also help him work with (though not necessarily adjust to) his new environment.

'''Disadvantages:''' Plenty. Damien's not of physically superior stock and would easily succumb to repeated strong blows. His intelligence in the fields of the maths and sciences will probably never come into play when you're trying to dodge bullets and blows from meleé weapons. His paranoia is very likely to alienate those who would genuinely try to befriend him during the course of the game. Although he is normally used to keeping his outward, let alone inward fear in check in most situations where he is threatened by others, the trauma of being isolated in such a fashion could take its toll (and possibly, turn into an advantage).

Low and behold, Damien Carter-Madison will finally get that chance! I'd be pegging this one for a motivator if he hadn't received the infamous pot lid as a weapon. '''Mid-Game Evaluation:''' Damien Carter-Madison had had a very rotten streak of luck in the weeks leading up to his arrival on the island. And when he woke up in the sewers of the island, he really thought it couldn't get much worse. But it did, as he had woken up in the sewers with one of his most powerful enemies, [[Marvin Hendrick]], who quickly found Damien with his flashlight and a lot of luck.

Marvin immediately proceeded to beat up on the boy, believing that Damien's mother Nicole was responsible for his induction into SOTF. Damien did not even attempt to defend with his assigned weapon as it was knocked into the sewer water after the first blow. The more Damien denied his mother's involvement, the harder Marvin's blows became. Eventually he'd beaten the boy so severely (at least in Marvin's judgment) that he decided to leave Damien to die in the sewers. Before Marvin managed to escape through a conveniently-located manhole, he looted Damien's bag of any supplies that might prove vital to him and stuck his own assigned weapon - a pacifier - in Damien's mouth, to add insult to injury. Damien then fell unconscious.

During his time unconscious Damien fell into a sort of dream world, where he met a mysterious, literally shadowy figure that had the same voice that had played in his head in previous times of crises. The shadowy figure assured him that he wasn't dead before giving him some very vague advice. Damien then regained consciousness and managed to find his way out of the sewers through the same manhole that Marvin escaped through (which was, luckily, left open). He also managed to retrieve his "weapon," which had become stuck in a nearby grating.

After a relatively short trek, the battered Damien reached the nearby pagoda, where he encountered one of three women he dreaded, [[Kristey Burrowell]] (the other two being Nicole and Reneé, the latter he suspects is also on the island), smashing up items inside. In his hesitation to escape, Kristey managed to spot the boy, and the two were joined by [[Peter Rosenthal]], nearly paralyzing him in fear. Kristey and Peter would then head around the building to figure out how to deal with Damien, but he was able to sneak through the pagoda to eavesdrop on them. What he heard seemed to confirm all his paranoia, and when Kristey caught him writing her name down in his hitlist, she expelled him from the group.

As he left, Damien smiled for the first time in a long time. He eventually ended up at the Botanical Gardens, where he met [[Eli McConnell]] and escaped with him after the area was declared a danger zone.

Damien and Eli eventually traveled to the school building to take shelter from the Day 4 rain. Damien's mind was already coming dangerously close to collapse as he heard of [[Franco Sebberts]]' exploits. While they rested in a classroom, Damien thought he heard Elias call him a "loser," causing a chain of events that led to him curb-stomping Elias on the cracker tin, racking up his first kill. Having finally snapped, Damien left the school building smiling.

That smile faded - at least for the time being - as he wandered into the forest where he encountered Kristey Burrowell, who was disillusioned from having met and intimidated by her biological half-brother. The two engaged in a brief war of words, where Kristey tried to convince Damien that he was now no better than the people who tormented him, while Damien proclaimed that what he was doing was only justice. The two eventually fought but Kristey left herself open for Damien to strike the fatal blow. After she died, Damien too felt disillusioned until he met his "special friend" once again, giving him the confidence to continue. He also received a Colt Anaconda as a reward for killing Kristey.

His quest for revenge led him to the Residential District, where he briefly found a wardrobe that was sure to [http://lazardo.deviantart.com/art/Sailor-Damien-Colored-In-53897290 traumatize someone's vision], before he caught wind of the fight between [[Oliver Dodd]] and [[Paris Persephone]]. He managed to arrive as Paris fled, and briefly allied with Oliver as they pursued him to the hospital. They arrived only to find that Paris had committed suicide, and it was then that Damien turned on Oliver, starting a new chase. Damien cornered Oliver at the cliffs and shot him repeatedly with the revolver until the giant fell to his death.

Damien ended up in the Industrial District, where he faced off against [[Franco Sebberts]] in an attempt to exact revenge for a traumatic beating that happened during an ill-fated party that Damien was invited too. The ensuing chaos caused the factory they were battling in to collapse. Damien managed to narrowly escape, but the collapse killed Franco as well as two other combatants, [[Blake Ross]] and [[Horace Malcolm]]. The footage of the event prior to the collapse showed Damien taking aim as well as a loud gunshot-like noise prior to the collapse, but the exact cause may never be known.

Damien decided to rest in the garden, where he happened to share a park bench with the man on a literally holy quest to kill him, [[Roland Kelly]]. Rather than a protracted battle scene, the two shared a brief conversation where Roland apologized for being part of the gang that harangued Damien during his school days. Damien forgave Roland with a bullet through the face. With Roland's death, the only one left on Damien's list was [[Reneé Valenti]], whom he did not realize was not participating in the current season. He ended up back in the school, where he had a brief fight (and prevailed) against another giant, [[Vesa Turunen]].

With his sanity in tatters, he engaged [[Mariavel Varella]] in a gunfight on the school field shortly afterward and suffered a mortal wound, though both of them were able to flee their separate ways as the school collapsed. Sadly, Damien would not be able to complete his quest, bleeding out in the park near where he had killed Roland a short time before to the horror of [[Eduardo Trinidad-Villa]], who was watching from Highland Beach.

Damien is survived by his mother Nicole, who still currently heads her anti-bullying organization.

Damien is, by far, one of my favourite characters on the site. Somewhere, in the shattered psyche of highschool memory, there's a little Damien in all of us. I think he is the epitome of a tragic anti-hero, and I hope the little tyke gets his due.

Thusfar (including the V3 Pregame) Damien has definitely been my overall favourite character in SOTF. I just wish he could have gone all the way and won the thing, although of course we would have missed out on a fantastic death scene. I guess Damien lives on in [[Eduardo Trinidad-Villa]].

Despite he and his father having contrasting ideologies, he has actually helped set up election day setups out of his neighbor's garage whenever they volunteer. He is also a member of Gilroy's soccer team.

'''Appearance:''' Roland looks like your typical preppie WASP, especially at school. Neatly brushed light-brown hair, deep blue eyes, some freckles here and there mixed in with the usual sparse acne. He has a slightly more-imposing-than-average figure, which helps make his presence on the soccer team seem slightly more threatening than normal, though it certainly isn't the only thing helping the Gilroyals win any championships this year. Although his uniform conceals it, he is also reasonably hairy, but not enough that people would think of him as a caveman.

His uniform, as expected from someone with his status in society, is prim and proper, though it does have its fair share of crinkles and creases which he claims is the mark of a good All-American work ethic.

Puberty has, however, NOT treated his voice well, and it often breaks during his speech, often reducing him to grumbling most of the time. One can find traces of a Noreaster accent in his voice.

'''Biography:''' Roland is the son of New Jersey State Senator Ian Kelly (D-NJ). Ian's wife is housewife and part-time campaign secretary Roberta Kelly. And as the son of a respectable politician (despite his relatively low position), Roland has had access to some of the finer schools in the country, public AND private. Of course, Ian didn't object when Roland decided to attend Gilroy Academy, sometimes joking that his son would turn out like the classic university liberal type. Roland's grades are not the highest but he definitely takes pride in that they are quite honest and have yet to require strings being pulled to change.

But what makes the Kelly family so interesting is that they are the antithesis of the famous conservative-father-begets-liberal-son-family archetype. Indeed, as a Democrat it is Ian Kelly's responsibility to respect any ideology that does not actively promote hate or harm toward other decent human beings. Which would explain why he seems to have no problem with Roland being conservative. Roland, in turn, respects his father, if only to keep his sparkling example of a family institution intact.

Roland personally does not take very kindly - at least mentally - to the politically liberal sort. He doesn't approve of same-sex relationships or abortion unless absolutely necessary. He is also a fierce opponent of gun control and despite not owning a gun himself has been to the gun range numerous times, as well as owning a good amount of gun memorabilia and books on their mechanics. The list goes on, but will not be discussed here for relevance purposes.

Most notably, he hates terrorists (Muslim, Neo-Fascist, etc.) with a passion. This seems to be the only issue that he and his father can definitely agree on, though how best to deal with them ironically make up one of their biggest ideological differences. Both Roland and his father have also been very vocal opponents of the first "season" of SOTF, as described by the media. Of course, Kelly doesn't have any intentions on joining any branch of the Armed Forces unless there's a draft, in which case he'd (begrudgingly) follow the rule.

Other than that, Rowland seems to be easy to get along with, although despite not being outwardly prejudiced he seems to get along best with other whites (though this may be due to the lack of minorities in the schools he has attended.) And like most rich WASPs, he also looks down on the lower class. He will certainly fight for what he believes in, but what extent that will be taken is in doubt as he has essentially lived in good ol' American surburbia with many sojourns to urbia for most of his life.

He is the least respected member of the Valenti Syndicate, sometimes even being the brunt of insults himself, most of which involve permutations of his name (be it given or surname first.). He doesn't exactly respect the objectifying lyrics of said name's associative genres, but then again he tries not to be racist about it. He also does not earn much respect in that he always seems to stand in the background when they pick on you-know-who. The fact that he is one of the few members with significant political connections remains the only reason that he's in the gang in the first place. Of course, his status hasn't improved as of recently, as he had to recently be hospitalized for nearly having his throat slashed by a vicious female student in a recent confrontation. The fact that he didn't exactly take the pain "like a man should" didn't help in the slightest either. His only solace seemed to be the fact that he outranked Marvin Hendrick in the Junior Republicans club on campus.

Nevertheless, Roland holds a begrudging respect for his superiors, hoping that their own connections will help fill his ticket to better things. Like the governorship. Or even Congress.

But it has been out of the disrespect toward him that he had "politely" declined Franco Sebberts' invitation to a recent function. He has also privately expressed a degree of sympathy toward the function's main "beneficiary" and had arranged to send material condolences upon hearing the news. These condolences were however, quickly rejected by their receiver.

'''Advantages:''' Like [[Zachary Foreman|Zed Foreman]], he is well-versed in the workings of most light firearms and could probably adapt well to heavier ones (though maybe not in the case of BFGs like the m249). UNlike Zed, while no pro marksman he still makes a formidable shot when properly equipped. His resentment for a lot of different kinds of people, particularly the upper echelon members of the Valenti Syndicate, could be his driving force though it might also make him of enemies.

'''Disadvantages:''' That gash on his neck (suffered from the pre-game encounter with [[Kristey Burrowell]]) hasn't quite healed up, making him severely vulnerable in the area. He is far from adaptable when it comes to wielding a melee weapon, let alone working it. Roland Thomas Kelly woke up on the island inside a confession booth, sealed off from a very tense confrontation in the main church hall. He was able to talk his way out of the confrontation and escape, but [[Kasumi White]]'s death left him traumatized and helpless, causing him to wander aimlessly until he reached the industrial district where he broke down and pleaded to God for a sign - which was delivered in the form of Alice Nichols' frisbee.

Moved more by curiosity than faith, Roland entered the literal slaughterhouse where Nichols assaulted him. Interestingly enough, Roland believed he was ''already'' dead, and that Nichols was actually a manifestation of Damien Carter-Madison, coming to torture him for eternity. Ironically, Roland was able to turn the tables on Nichols and dispatch her with his scepter. This came mere moments before the district became a danger zone, but Kelly was able to escape right before his collar was detonated albeit at the cost of leaving all of his supplies save for his weapon behind. As he left he was convinced that he was not only dead, but currently in a sort of "purgatory" (styled after SotF) where he needed to purify himself before reaching heaven.

Kelly ended up at the Pagoda where he managed to find Tanesha Lexx' corpse - and thankfully, her still-full supply bag. He didn't have much time to enjoy it before Mihiro Duli entered the area. In a twist of fate, Roland believed that she was another manifestation of Damien, but purged of the rage that came from Roland's and Reneé Valenti's torture. It took Danya's announcement that Damien had been active and killing to rectify that Damien was still alive, and Roland quickly turned on Michiro. She was able to disfigure him with her vial of sulfuric acid (Damien's "venom" in Kelly's mind) before he subdued her, and killed her with a flashbang directed to discharge inside her mouth.

As Roland left the pagoda he was now certain that in order to reach Heaven he would have to put down all of Damien's "forms" for good, knowing full well where he would end up if he failed.

His confrontation with Dan Cosyn at the hospital was even more intense than either Alice or Mihiro, as his opponent was tough enough to withstand two flashbang grenades and a jab to his side with a hockey stick. Cosyn was also strong enough to break Kelly's arm below the elbow with a swift kick. However, possibly thorough either or both of divine grace or animal rage, Kelly overcame Cosyn with help from a dropped syringe and Cosyn's own Taser. Kelly left the hospital in a virtually crippled state, running on the hope that he would persevere and attain his eternal reward.

He has slicked-back medium brown hair, hazel eyes, and a face that marks a turning point between young and adolescent, though his features retain a formidable degree of masculinity. There isn't much to be said about his clothing in school, since he wears the same uniform as every other male student, but outside of school he dresses preppy and fairly conservative. This wardrobe includes a couple of letterman outfits from being on the tennis team, which he proudly wears at times to show those from the lower "caste" schools that even the upper-crust can produce some rough-and-tumble individuals of their own, even if tennis isn't as rough-and-tumble as, say, football.

'''Biography:''' Marvin Hendrick is the younger brother of Richard Hendrick, the flamboyant heir to the Hendrick Industries business empire. He is the son of CEO Rodney Hendrick, and his mother is loving-yet-working wife Martha Hendrick. Richard is your average All-American "Marty Stu," as Marvin would kindly describe it. Richard has the Prince William looks, the fast cars (of course, he's of legal age to drive), the great college opportunities, and it all seems natural to him. He was born into old wealth, which further supplemented his flamboyance from the moment he gained consciousness of it.

But this isn't Richard's bio, it's Marvin's.

From birth Marvin was raised in nearly the exact same fashion as his older brother, only adjusted to the 90's. As such, he has actually had access to more opportunities than his brother and likes to seize them whenever he can. However, that does not seem to make much of a difference in the eyes of his parents.

You see, being raised as what is effectively his family's "Plan B" or Prince Harry has taken its toll on his psyche. Not only did he have to make do with less possessions than his brother has now (though to be fair, he has about as many, if not more than Richard did at his age) he also has to do with significantly less attention. And that amount was already a piddance given that their parents were busy reigning over the H.I. empire, leaving them at the mercy of the maids and top-notch nannies. Richard, of course, made use of whatever attention and counseling was given him to grow up with a fair sense of integrity. But as Marvin saw it, Richard gained a superiority complex, and his playful, fraternal teasing was translated in Marvin's mind into no less than assaults on his person.

Richard leaving for college while Marvin was in junior high did change things, but only a little, and toward the worse.

Marvin Hendrick, despite relatively good academic performance (thanks to the best private tutors available), would develop a long history of bullying throughout his elementary and junior high days, shocking the administrations of the upper-class institutions. The fact that he was kept on those institutions' rolls was primarily owed to Hendrick Industries' sponsorship of those schools as well as Richard's past attendance. The family's "counseling" and constant referals to Richard's model behavior was taken as further condescension by his younger brother, and was responded to by silent, "cooperating" nods. The only thing that seemed to work was giving him a sport, and tennis seemed the most likely win-win situation for both parties: It was a sport of the elite, and Marvin could swing that racket as hard as he liked to vent his aggression.

Last year, Marvin was enrolled in P.J. Gilroy, where his brother graduated class valedictorian some years before. Almost immediately he started buildnig on his reputation by taking out his family frustration on the weaker - and unbeknownst to him, almost always relatively poorer - students. One in particular caught his repeated interest particularly because he was so pathetically helpless. Of course, there were those instances he was reported in for tormenting that particular student, and his family berated him for not acting as proper as his older brother and role model. But that only made revenge that much sweeter, even when that particular kid's cries of pain started to fade out from repeated aggression. Nigh one month passed before his antics caught the attention of someone important: TV star and upperclassman Reneé Valenti.

Marvin quickly made his way up the ranks of Reneé's "association," providing the muscle and acerbic temper that would make them the most feared clique in the Jersey upper-class educational society. Granted, they were still far removed in ferocity from public school "gangs," but at least then, Marvin commanded respect from underlings, and that pleased him enough.

Marvin's grades are often adequate enough to pass him through classes, ironic given that he spends virtually all of his school time apart from class, tennis, and the minimal attendance of his clubs, with his clique. And that is still a substantial amount of time. His parents continue to indirectly pressure him to improve, but he brushes it off with a friendly nod and smile.

Marvin and his gangmates can currently be found lording over the lesser students. His current position means he's actually more mouth than fist when it comes to the dirty work done by his clique, but none of the other members seem to mind, much as he doesn't mind (too much) following Reneé. Perhaps it's the time he spends with the clique that makes up for the lack of quantity and quality family time. He also seems to display more self-confidence when in the presence of his clique - most significantly in Valenti's presence, though his loyalty and ambition can sometimes be called into question, especially after a recent incident in school.

Finally, while he likes to verbally flaunt his family's wealth - or rather, his status in society, he has not had to rely on his family's allegedly unlimited resources as much as the other upper-crust players in the game, so he won't suffer that denial-of-service trauma as much once he adjusts to it. (the difference obviously won't be major, but it won't be negligible either).

It's his forceful, abusive nature that can actually work against him, and being separated from his familiars - much less his resources - could almost certainly amplify this. He was even angrier when he discovered his assigned "weapon," indicated below, and uttered the quote also listed below. Determined to find a way out he switched on his flashlight and started working his way around the sewers. The first thing he found was none other than his favorite punching bag, [[Damien Carter-Madison]].

Marvin immediately proceeded to beat up on the boy, believing that Damien's mother Nicole was responsible for his induction into SOTF. Damien did not even attempt to defend with his assigned weapon as it was knocked into the sewer water after the first blow. The more Damien denied his mother's involvement, the harder Marvin's blows became. Eventually he'd beaten the boy so severely (at least in Marvin's judgement) that he decided to leave Damien to die in the sewers. Marvin effectively left the sewer area unarmed, placing an unsettling amount of confidence in his fists, which had already proven to be weapons of their own.

He eventually found his way to the hotel, and quickly found himself locked in a stall in (the unintentionally chosen) ladies' room, thinking things over. He realized that he was effectively dead without a weapon, his extra supplies making him a "walking treasure chest." In his frustration and anger he convinced himself that if he was going to die, he would go out with a bang.

As he exited the bathroom and made his way back to the lobby, he spotted classmate [[Franco Sebberts]] with a girl unidentified to him. However, they were unable to spot him in return, as all three were attracted to a "blood-curdling" scream from across the hotel lobby, and he waited until they were a safe distance away before following them himself. However, [[Russ Gofis]] entered the lobby, and not much time passed before Marvin found himself in the crosshairs, between "rocks and a really hot place," referring to Russ' shotgun and Franco's grenade launcher, respectively.

Marvin launched one more desperate attack, but was quickly suppressed and killed by combined fire from the two guns.

'''Biography:''' "Zed" is a rather easy-going, laid back persona, though he's really not one to talk or socialize, unless he's trying to impress someone with his skateboarding skills. He's a more vibrant personality online and/or with members of his gaming community, and this also shows on those occasions he invites his clan over (or vice versa) for a gaming party. Once one gets to know him better, he's a fairly sensitive guy emotionally, but not as much physically. He is generally a team player and can make a loyal friend.

Zachary was born in New York City, his family moving out to one of the many suburbs of New Jersey in his infanthood to escape the pressures of the city. He is an only child, and his parents are rather average, unspectacular individuals, his father a "classic pencil-pusher" and his mom a "soap-opera (and probably desperate?) housewife."

His parents have long since accepted that kids his age have some rebellious streak, and they have reacted by supporting him in his least controversial endeavours, most prominently skateboarding and videogaming. His family currently owns a medium-high-end PC, a PS2 and an XBox 360, and they intend to replace the former with the PS3 in November. While they have allowed Zachary to play M-rated games since 2001 (and you can guess which game started that,) they believe they have counseled him quite sufficiently that videogames should never be translated into reality.

Lo and behold, his videogame addiction translated into a growing degree of fame, which culminated in his Counter-Strike Team Jersey FM taking a podium position in their rookie debut at the recent 2005 Cyber World Cup in New York. They are currently one of the top bets to make the gold this year.

However, Zachary hasn't really had as much time to practice this year, as since then he has spent a lot of his time outside school and homework trying to launch his own skateboarding career (thanks to an almost unhealthy obsession with the Tony Hawk series.) Initial attempts to match the unrealistic combos performed in the video games have resulted in a few broken bones and many more nasty bruises. "Zed" - as he labeled his new "skate name" - has since moved down to less dangerous, basic moves, and while he still bails quite often he doesn't suffer that many injuries and almost none to such an extreme degree. At least he can count new friendships (and maybe even a new girlfriend, even if she is an in-line skater) and an increased threshhold for blunt force trauma among the fruits of his painstaking labor.

Far from being spoiled, Zachary really possesses little else apart from his formidable game collection, a rather small array of skating paraphernalia, and his clothes.

His skateboarding and videogaming are refreshing outlets for his frustration in having to deal with the student body at Franklyn Senior, where he has been enrolled since Freshman year. Not being a typical sports jock he is, like many others, singled out for harassment and some physical torture from the sporting community. He formed a Gaming Division of the local A/V club early in his Sophomore year, but that was short lived (seeing as how he was literally the only one there.) He shares a few key acquaintances among the school's sparse nerd community, and that helps him get by socially and academically. He has a slightly larger array of IM buddies - including his gaming clan - and relishes their company whenever he can. Zachary is currently on the Honor Roll with a relatively honest GPA of 3.2, though his only thoughts regarding college culminate in "games." He doesn't intend to start college right after high school, preferring to first earn the money through professional videogaming and skateboarding.

'''Advantages:''' As stated above, Zachary's body has developed an unusually high tolerance for pain, specifically full-body blows (i.e. falls and the like). Thanks to his newfound cautiousness at attempting extreme things, he is less likely to have his bones broken unless the force is applied (intentionally or accidentally) directly/toward a point. He is also adept at the workings of firearms (knowing the ammo capacity of many kinds of firearms also helps), though he is far from a true marksman in real-life. Zachary is loyal to his newfound friends and could make one part of a deadly trio with them, which would complement his knack for on-the-go strategy acquired from teamplay in CS.

'''Disadvantages:''' Despite his threshhold, Zachary would be quite vulnerable to sharp, pointed objects and would definitely feel all but the most minor scrapes and cuts in spades(such as those suffered in the course of his short skateboarding career.) And he would not have suffered so much blunt-force trauma if he weren't so uncoordinated and clumsy (outside of videogames) to begin with. By contrast to his weapons training, he would likely be unskilled at handling meleé weapons, as unlike videogames, utilizing their potential would not be as simple as point-and-click. As for his friends, the trauma of "living" a violent videogame would have major effects on his loyalty with strangers, let alone his classmates from FS. This trauma could also turn the Skateboard Trio into the Lighthouse Boys without warning.

'''Mid-Game Evaluation:''' Zachary woke up - as the title of the thread suggested - in the middle of the forest, after having woken up and put back to sleep against his will several times in the last 24 hours or so. The unusual and unusually graphic events that preceded and succeeded each shortened waking process had somehow led him to believe he had spawned into a violent videogame with realistic effects, not unlike the Matrix. Inspection of his belongings revealed that his weapon was actually an American Flag, which he was able to fashion into a makeshift [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garrote garrote].

His first opponent was [[Venus Gwendolyn]], who had "spawned" with a weapon that was clearly too heavy for her. Though he was easily convinced that she was AI (albeit very realistic and sexy AI), she was able to seduce him, and Zed's resistance was futile. (According to both character handlers participating, she did this to be able to procure the flag as a weapon.) However, she took advantage of this and maimed him, almost leaving him as easy prey for Satoru Kamui, who gored Zed's arm with one of his Cats' Claws. Fortunately, Nich had arrived on the scene to "rescue" him.

The two eventually made their way to the hotel, picking up Swainson on the way to complete the trio of friends that had formed prior to their stint on the island. Despite being severely rattled and without any real weapons, the three tried to formulate a plan that would at least ensure a longer period of survival. However, they were eventually caught when the chaos that ensued elsewhere in the building attracted their attention, forcing them to move out of the relative safety of their hotel room and inadvertently into the line of fire. Zed was the first one of them to die when Calvert shot a door open, the buckshot inflicting fatal damage. He died in Andrew's arms, and it's implied that Zed had more than friendly feelings for Swainson as he breathed his last.

'''Appearance:''' Despite being in the throes of an adolescent growth spurt making him nearly as tall as his classmates, Damien Carter-Madison is still quite gangly in appearance, making his uniform appear one size too big. He has gel-tamed jet black hair, which when let free would actually constitute a violation of school appearance regulations. This contrasts with his fair, eerily pale skin, and brown eyes. When he arrives at school his uniform is clean, pressed and free of unnecessary creases. His face is recognizably androgynous, and almost completely free of acne. Despite his outward appearance, he does not wear makeup as other kids with similar dispositions and related fashion senses do, and he and his mother often have to prove this embarrassingly to some wary school officials.

Across his body are the fading remains of several bruises and other relatively minor yet painful (more psychological) injuries, as a result of the bullying in his school. Most of these injuries are completely concealed by his full-body uniform, though sometimes a black eye or a little facial inflammation tends to linger visibly on his face for days as a reminder to his peers as to who they're messing with.

'''Biography:''' Damien was born on the West Coast. His father passed away shortly after his birth. Not long after that he was found to have a particularly gifted mind, with an IQ just surpassing 150. The report - which also included a childhood psychological evaluation - also found hints of potential mental illnesses, though those were rather glossed over and summarily covered up by his mother. He entered Kindergarten at preschool age (hence his age handicap) and academically blazed his way through elementary and junior high, before he moved to New Jersey to attend Gilroy Academy. He is particularly adept at math and the sciences and is, quite unintentionally, the darling of his teachers. He also has a closet interest in the graphic arts.

Logic therefore dictates that he is not a particularly happy little boy, and it shows.

From his first day in elementary School, Damien's academic abilities often shone bright enough to blind and earn the irritation and jealousy of his peers. What would start as nasty words would eventually develop into physical action. Any of his attempts to retaliate would often result in further repercussion. In reaction to this, his mother had him moved out of the West Coast to Jersey's Gilroy Academy, where she hoped the more laid-back and higher-achieving student community would treat his kind with more respect. Apparently, she was wrong.

Being picked on by guys and chicks (read, both of the spoiled rich-kids' club in Gilroy's instance, and [[Marvin Hendrick]]'s clique in particular) alike has become a nigh-daily occurance for him. He often slinks and zips around classmates between class, lunch break and club, getting caught by a particular mean clique more often than not and dragged away to where the faculty won't notice. His fear and lack of proper fight training (regardless of his body type) quickly negates his efforts to resist. By the time he leaves he looks visibly shaken, at the least. His uniform manages to conceal most of his bruises, and the ones on his face fade almost completely overnight.

The other obstacle in his life is his mother, Nicole Carter-Madison. Ever since her husband was killed - exactly how or why she doesn't say, though she categorically denies having a hand in it - she has made it her mission to make sure Damien never comes to harm at home or in school, at least on her watch (obviously, she never escorts him around classes). She is a card-carrying member of Gilroy's PTA and a known activist against bullying in all types of educational institutions. As described above, it's rather easy for Nicole to figure out if and when her son has been picked on. Yet her - and sometimes the faculty's - attempts to 'save' Damien from bullies have frequently led to even more violent reprisals against him, performed behind her back. That Damien has not yet suffered broken bones can be attributed to the fact that this would constitute a breach of school rules so severe that the aggressors' "connections" would actually fail in such a scenario.

This also leads most of the rest Damien's peers to keep their distance from him for fear of repercussions of their own; the rest have ended up befriending him for comparably short periods of time before learning this, resulting in a great deal of mistrust as well. By contrast, Nicole leaves him well enough alone because she believes her son won't try anything stupid/insane.

Naturally, going through this much would make Damien quite paranoid and wary of people around him. He keeps a scrapbook/drawing book full of morbid imagery - in the innocuous guise of a girl's diary - and other scary little sometimes-non-lethal mementos hidden in his clothes drawers, of the things he envisions he'd do to his oppressors, among other things. Even the members of the school's animé club say he actually resembles Wrath (from [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homunculi_of_the_Fullmetal_Alchemist_anime#Wrath FullMetal Alchemist]), before and after he's picked on.

But the way things look, Nicole is right in a sense. Damien even unconsciously tries to keep up a "sweet little boy" image for his mother when she's looking. Damien has therefore grown scared enough that he won't even try to harm ''himself'' out of despair. To be sure, this had been going on since before he moved to Gilroy, but the transfer only heaped upon his frustration that he might never get to exact revenge on everyone who picked on him.

'''Advantages:''' He has been hearing some voices in his head as of late. Psychotic, paranoid voices. But that's something he can shake off or shout off...for now. Speaking of his acute paranoia, he will trust next to nobody, and this works to his advantage as it can as a shield against most "sweet-talking" or other verbal deception expected from the craftier contestants. He should also be adroit at sneaking around undetected in places that would provide a lot more cover than a school hallway, and it's not likely that he'd be assigned a backpack or other bag larger than the one he carries around school, so that would help. Damien is also a rather big fan of the original SOTF, so that might also help him work with (though not necessarily adjust to) his new environment.

'''Disadvantages:''' Plenty. Damien's not of physically superior stock and would easily succumb to repeated strong blows. His intelligence in the fields of the maths and sciences will probably never come into play when you're trying to dodge bullets and blows from meleé weapons. His paranoia is very likely to alienate those who would genuinely try to befriend him during the course of the game. Although he is normally used to keeping his outward, let alone inward fear in check in most situations where he is threatened by others, the trauma of being isolated in such a fashion could take its toll (and possibly, turn into an advantage).

During his time unconscious Damien fell into a sort of dream world, where he met a mysterious, literally shadowy figure that had the same voice that had played in his head in previous times of crises. The shadowy figure assured him that he wasn't dead before giving him some very vague advice. Damien then regained consciousness and managed to find his way out of the sewers through the same manhole that Marvin escaped through (which was, luckily, left open). He also managed to retrieve his "weapon," which had become stuck in a nearby grating.

After a relatively short trek, the battered Damien reached the nearby pagoda, where he encountered one of three women he dreaded, [[Kristey Burrowell]] (the other two being Nicole and Reneé, the latter he suspects is also on the island), smashing up items inside. In his hesitation to escape, Kristey managed to spot the boy, and the two were joined by [[Peter Rosenthal]], nearly paralyzing him in fear. Kristey and Peter would then head around the building to figure out how to deal with Damien, but he was able to sneak through the pagoda to eavesdrop on them. What he heard seemed to confirm all his paranoia, and when Kristey caught him writing her name down in his hitlist, she expelled him from the group.

As he left, Damien smiled for the first time in a long time. He eventually ended up at the Botanical Gardens, where he met [[Eli McConnell]] and escaped with him after the area was declared a danger zone.

Damien and Eli eventually traveled to the school building to take shelter from the Day 4 rain. Damien's mind was already coming dangerously close to collapse as he heard of [[Franco Sebberts]]' exploits. While they rested in a classroom, Damien thought he heard Elias call him a "loser," causing a chain of events that led to him curb-stomping Elias on the cracker tin, racking up his first kill. Having finally snapped, Damien left the school building smiling.

That smile faded - at least for the time being - as he wandered into the forest where he encountered Kristey Burrowell, who was disillusioned from having met and intimidated by her biological half-brother. The two engaged in a brief war of words, where Kristey tried to convince Damien that he was now no better than the people who tormented him, while Damien proclaimed that what he was doing was only justice. The two eventually fought but Kristey left herself open for Damien to strike the fatal blow. After she died, Damien too felt disillusioned until he met his "special friend" once again, giving him the confidence to continue.

He recently received the aforementioned Colt Anaconda as a prize for killing Kristey, and still firmly believes that his own mother is behind the whole operation.

Damien is, by far, one of my favourite characters on the site. Somewhere, in the shattered psyche of highschool memory, there's a little Damien in all of us. I think he is the epitome of a tragic anti-hero, and I hope the little tyke gets his due.

Her mother, Claire, was never really there for her, as she spends most of her time working, although Kristey herself doesn't know what her mother does. She also had a child with him, who she left with him, which she views as a great mistake...

Due to her mother's neglect, Kristey never grew up to be a loving gentle person. The only influence her mother has had on her is that Kristey grew up to be very conservative, and is very intolerant of people of different religions, races, and sexual orientations.

She has no desire for anyone, in terms of romance or sex. She considers herself asexual, but it is not beyond her to use her looks to use against people, or to get what she wants.

Due to the fact that her mother is almost never around, she has gotten used to being by herself, and can manage most things without anyone's help. She cooks, she cleans, she does the maid's job for her. She doesn't clean the house because she likes it, she does it because she feels the maid is an inept person, who is just a waste of money.
THis leads to the maid being afraid of her.

As a result of her narcissistic and hateful views on people, most people are afraid of her. Most people who have tried to talk to her, or befriend her have ended up seeing how cruel she really is, and then they end up hating her.
Alongside her hatred for people, there is her glowing aura of narcissism, believing herself superior to all the students around her, and has never praised anyone for anything.

Kristey's mother is the same mother that walked out on Andi and his father when he was three years old. Claire kept this a secret from her daughter, but Kristey has found old diaries and photos depicting her old family. She has an overwhelming hatred for Andi, since her mother looked happy in the pictures where she is with Andi, meanwhile her and her mother have never shared a loving moment. Period. She seeks Andi out to meet him, and see what's so special about that boy. She really knows nothing about him, other than his name and face, and will go to any length to see what he's like... whether she'll hurt him or not is another question entirely.

'''Appearance:''' Despite being in the throes of an adolescent growth spurt making him nearly as tall as his classmates, Damien Carter-Madison is still quite gangly in appearance, making his uniform appear one size too big. He has gel-tamed jet black hair, which when let free would actually constitute a violation of school appearance regulations. This contrasts with his fair, eerily pale skin, and brown eyes. When he arrives at school his uniform is clean, pressed and free of unnecessary creases. His face is recognizably androgynous, and almost completely free of acne. Despite his outward appearance, he does not wear makeup as other kids with similar dispositions and related fashion senses do, and he and his mother often have to prove this embarrassingly to some wary school officials.

Across his body are the fading remains of several bruises and other relatively minor yet painful (more psychological) injuries, as a result of the bullying in his school. Most of these injuries are completely concealed by his full-body uniform, though sometimes a black eye or a little facial inflammation tends to linger visibly on his face for days as a reminder to his peers as to who they're messing with.

'''Biography:''' Damien was born on the West Coast. His father passed away shortly after his birth. Not long after that he was found to have a particularly gifted mind, with an IQ just surpassing 150. The report - which also included a childhood psychological evaluation - also found hints of potential mental illnesses, though those were rather glossed over and summarily covered up by his mother. He entered Kindergarten at preschool age (hence his age handicap) and academically blazed his way through elementary and junior high, before he moved to New Jersey to attend Gilroy Academy. He is particularly adept at math and the sciences and is, quite unintentionally, the darling of his teachers. He also has a closet interest in the graphic arts.

Logic therefore dictates that he is not a particularly happy little boy, and it shows.

From his first day in elementary School, Damien's academic abilities often shone bright enough to blind and earn the irritation and jealousy of his peers. What would start as nasty words would eventually develop into physical action. Any of his attempts to retaliate would often result in further repercussion. In reaction to this, his mother had him moved out of the West Coast to Jersey's Gilroy Academy, where she hoped the more laid-back and higher-achieving student community would treat his kind with more respect. Apparently, she was wrong.

Being picked on by guys and chicks (read, both of the spoiled rich-kids' club in Gilroy's instance, and [[Marvin Hendrick]]'s clique in particular) alike has become a nigh-daily occurance for him. He often slinks and zips around classmates between class, lunch break and club, getting caught by a particular mean clique more often than not and dragged away to where the faculty won't notice. His fear and lack of proper fight training (regardless of his body type) quickly negates his efforts to resist. By the time he leaves he looks visibly shaken, at the least. His uniform manages to conceal most of his bruises, and the ones on his face fade almost completely overnight.

The other obstacle in his life is his mother, Nicole Carter-Madison. Ever since her husband was killed - exactly how or why she doesn't say, though she categorically denies having a hand in it - she has made it her mission to make sure Damien never comes to harm at home or in school, at least on her watch (obviously, she never escorts him around classes). She is a card-carrying member of Gilroy's PTA and a known activist against bullying in all types of educational institutions. As described above, it's rather easy for Nicole to figure out if and when her son has been picked on. Yet her - and sometimes the faculty's - attempts to 'save' Damien from bullies have frequently led to even more violent reprisals against him, performed behind her back. That Damien has not yet suffered broken bones can be attributed to the fact that this would constitute a breach of school rules so severe that the aggressors' "connections" would actually fail in such a scenario.

This also leads most of the rest Damien's peers to keep their distance from him for fear of repercussions of their own; the rest have ended up befriending him for comparably short periods of time before learning this, resulting in a great deal of mistrust as well. By contrast, Nicole leaves him well enough alone because she believes her son won't try anything stupid/insane.

Naturally, going through this much would make Damien quite paranoid and wary of people around him. He keeps a scrapbook/drawing book full of morbid imagery - in the innocuous guise of a girl's diary - and other scary little sometimes-non-lethal mementos hidden in his clothes drawers, of the things he envisions he'd do to his oppressors, among other things. Even the members of the school's animé club say he actually resembles Wrath (from [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homunculi_of_the_Fullmetal_Alchemist_anime#Wrath FullMetal Alchemist]), before and after he's picked on.

But the way things look, Nicole is right in a sense. Damien even unconsciously tries to keep up a "sweet little boy" image for his mother when she's looking. Damien has therefore grown scared enough that he won't even try to harm ''himself'' out of despair. To be sure, this had been going on since before he moved to Gilroy, but the transfer only heaped upon his frustration that he might never get to exact revenge on everyone who picked on him.

'''Advantages:''' He has been hearing some voices in his head as of late. Psychotic, paranoid voices. But that's something he can shake off or shout off...for now. Speaking of his acute paranoia, he will trust next to nobody, and this works to his advantage as it can as a shield against most "sweet-talking" or other verbal deception expected from the craftier contestants. He should also be adroit at sneaking around undetected in places that would provide a lot more cover than a school hallway, and it's not likely that he'd be assigned a backpack or other bag larger than the one he carries around school, so that would help. Damien is also a rather big fan of the original SOTF, so that might also help him work with (though not necessarily adjust to) his new environment.

'''Disadvantages:''' Plenty. Damien's not of physically superior stock and would easily succumb to repeated strong blows. His intelligence in the fields of the maths and sciences will probably never come into play when you're trying to dodge bullets and blows from meleé weapons. His paranoia is very likely to alienate those who would genuinely try to befriend him during the course of the game. Although he is normally used to keeping his outward, let alone inward fear in check in most situations where he is threatened by others, the trauma of being isolated in such a fashion could take its toll (and possibly, turn into an advantage).

'''Mid-Game Evaluation:''' Damien Carter-Madison had had a very rotten streak of luck in the weeks leading up to his arrival on the island. And when he woke up in the sewers of the island, he really thought it couldn't get much worse. But it did, as he had woken up in the sewers with one of his most powerful enemies, [[Marvin Hendrick]], who quickly found Damien with his flashlight and a lot of luck.

Marvin immediately proceeded to beat up on the boy, believing that Damien's mother Nicole was responsible for his induction into SOTF. Damien did not even attempt to defend with his assigned weapon as it was knocked into the sewer water after the first blow. The more Damien denied his mother's involvement, the harder Marvin's blows became. Eventually he'd beaten the boy so severely (at least in Marvin's judgement) that he decided to leave Damien to die in the sewers. Before Marvin managed to escape through a conveniently-located manhole, he looted Damien's bag of any supplies that might prove vital to him and stuck his own assigned weapon - a pacifier - in Damien's mouth, to add insult to injury. Damien then fell unconscious.

During his time unconscious Damien fell into a sort of dream world, where he met a mysterious, literally shadowy figure that had the same voice that had played in his head in previous times of crises. The shadowy figure assured him that he wasn't dead before giving him some very vague advice. Damien then regained consciousness and managed to find his way out of the sewers through the same manhole that Marvin escaped through (which was, luckily, left open). He also managed to retrieve his "weapon," which had become stuck in a nearby grating.

After a relatively short trek, the battered Damien reached the nearby pagoda, where he encountered one of three women he dreaded, [[Kristey Burrowell]] (the other two being Nicole and Reneé, the latter he suspects is also on the island), smashing up items inside. In his hesitation to escape, Kristey managed to spot the boy...
