Purpose

At RIT, game design majors spend a lot of time designing games (who would've thought!). The current sophomore class of students has a little over 40 people in it. Although we make games together, we often don't play games together. The lead designer for Project Kombat wanted to make a game that could be given out on a CD to other game design majors so that they could easily play a game together. In short Kombat would be a free game for game design majors by game design majors.

Original Game Idea

The Lead Designer's original game was to make an Xbox Live Arcade style game to give out to other game students. Originally. Kombat was intended to be a top down shooter for the Xbox 360, making use of the console's gamepad for controls. Because of how difficult and expensive it is to distribute a game for the xbox, Kombat is being developed with the pc in mind.
