Anderson, Lester Ellis

Lester Ellis Anderson (1921-2000) — also known as Les Anderson was born in Portland, Oregon on December 5, 1921. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Les was the mayor for Eugene from 1969 to 1977. He was a member of the Rotary. He lived in Aspen, Colorado for a time. Les died in Eugene of cancer on October 8, 2000 and after cremation, his ashes were interred at Willamette National National Cemetery in Portland.
