After the war he was Alumni Director and subsequently Assistant to the President of the U of O. He subsequently purchased Lumberman's Buying Service and Random Lengths Publishing Co. in Eugene. Les was the mayor for [[Eugene]] from [[1969]] to [[1977]]. He was a member of the Rotary. He lived in Aspen, Colorado for a time. Les died in Eugene of cancer on [[October 8]], [[2000]] and after cremation, his ashes were interred at Willamette National National Cemetery in Portland. |
